A meeting of colleagues

Kakashi turned back to face the other two sides. What should have been a three-way standoff was gradually turning strange. He felt as though three sides had become two.

Him alone on one side, and the four of them on the other...

Could the man known for going fifty-fifty with anyone in the shinobi world manage fifty-fifty odds against four people at once? Kakashi had no confidence whatsoever. At that moment, his scarlet three-tomoe Sharingan seemed utterly powerless.

Kakuzu: "We're colleagues. How about we team up... and bury him?"

Aburame Torune: "Well... but... all right!"

All four wore textbook villainous smiles, which made the already slightly nervous Kakashi even more nervous.

Just as this utterly pointless battle was about to break out in the darkness, the aura Chinatsu gave off inside the Uchiha Residence changed again.

The visual powers of two people merged in Chinatsu's eyes. Their once-simple patterns gradually grew more complex, and searing pain spread from her eyes to every part of her body. If Chinatsu had been a masochist, this would probably have been the greatest pleasure of her life. Unfortunately, she wasn't.

Chinatsu tilted her head back and gritted her teeth, feeling her visual power grow alongside that bone-deep, exquisite agony. After gathering herself for a good while, she finally uttered something exceedingly refined.

"Fuck!"

This isn't right! When Sasuke evolved his eyes into the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan in the original story, didn't he say, "I feel great"? Why does it hurt so much for me?

Am I the weird one, or is Sasuke?

Am I overreacting, or is Sasuke actually a masochist?

Chinatsu panted heavily. Although it still hurt, her pain was clearly fading. After all, if the pain had still been at its worst, she wouldn't have had the energy to complain.

Time ticked
