Naruto entered the Ninja Region of the virtual game.
There, he saw all sorts of guilds founded by the various clans, as well as small circles and groups.
He also saw these guilds competing for Field Bosses and fighting guild wars.
It made Naruto feel as though he were back in an online game. He found it quite entertaining.
Actually, the ones who found it most entertaining were not Naruto, but the elderly members of the ninja clans who could no longer fight.
Most of those elders had fought in the First and Second Shinobi World Wars. Some had even witnessed the founding of the ninja villages as children, along with the wars of the Warring States Period before that.
They were old and had only a few years left to live, but ninjas were still ninjas. Spending their twilight years in peace was not really what they wanted.
Of course... they were not hoping for war to come, either. They simply felt that ninjas ought to die in battle, rather than in a sickbed.
The appearance of the Virtual Headset had given them a new lease on life.
In these last few years, they wanted to pursue grand ambitions in the virtual world, following the examples of the First Hokage and Madara Uchiha to usher in a new era there-an era of their own.
Whether it was guild wars, contests over Field Bosses, or even battles for ruins... the ones charging at the front were these elders who had not walked the streets of Konoha in years.
Naruto and Wolffy had naturally noticed this, too.
So Naruto had wondered whether there was some way to transfer human souls and consciousness into the virtual world.
That way, even if their bodies died, their souls could still live on
