Itachi had already figured out who the person in the rabbit mask was: the short-haired waitress at Anteiku. Her name seemed to be Touka Kirishima.
"In that case, I'll come find you later!"
With that, Itachi turned to Nishiki Nishio, who lay on the ground like a dead dog.
Nishiki couldn't move a muscle, and the Kakuhou inside his body had gone dormant, as though it had died.
"You... what the hell did you do to me?"
With his Kakuhou inactive, Nishiki felt his strength and physical capabilities plummet. Worse, they kept declining. If this continued, he felt he might turn into a weakling human.
Wait... a weakling human? Becoming human wouldn't be so bad... then I could really be with Kimi...
Naturally, Itachi and Hyuga Shoyo had no idea what Nishiki was thinking.
"How did it go?" Itachi asked as he approached Hyuga Shoyo.
"I've sealed the meridians around his Kakuhou! But... this Kakuhou really is an amazing organ!"
As he spoke, Hyuga Shoyo ignored Nishiki's resentful glare and lifted his shirt. Pointing to the location of his Kakuhou, he said, "This Kakuhou connects to meridians throughout a ghoul's body. I think its presence is what makes ghouls so different from humans."
"And there's only one kind of food that supplies the Kakuhou with energy: human flesh..."
Hyuga Shoyo shared everything he had observed and suspected, leaving Itachi deep in thought.
The information Hyuga Shoyo provided was actually much the same as what Dr. Kano had told him. The only difference was probably something as elusive as meridians.
Although meridian pathways existed, they were extremely elusive, impossible to see or touch.
Hyuga Shoyo, however, could see everything clearly with his Byakugan.
"Bring this ghoul along. There are still some experiments I need him for!"
With that, Itachi
