Clutching his limp, drooping shoulder, he stared at C.C. in shock.

"I suppose I'm a friend of Shisui Uchiha's..." C.C. returned to where she had been sitting. Seeing the takoyaki that had been knocked over by the shuriken, she glared at him darkly.

"Go buy me another serving and bring it back!"

"Yes!"

Frightened by C.C.'s glare, the Military Police officer dragged his immobile shoulder and fled in disgrace.

"A green-haired woman is looking for me?" Shisui Uchiha looked at the man before him in surprise. "Did she say what she wanted?"

"No. She only said she had something important to tell you."

"All right, I understand."

As Shisui Uchiha headed toward the Konoha Military Police Force headquarters, he kept thinking. He had never known a woman with green hair. Forget it. I'll find out who she is and what she wants when I see her.

Shisui Uchiha pushed open the office door and saw a woman with long green hair, dressed in strange clothing, sitting inside.

"Yo~! You're finally here. I was getting tired of waiting." Seeing Shisui Uchiha enter, C.C. set down her toothpick, elegantly wiped the sauce from the corner of her mouth, and smiled at him.

"Who are you?" Shisui Uchiha looked at C.C. coldly.

"Are you sure this place is safe? Our conversation won't be exposed?" C.C. gave a mysterious smile, narrowing her golden eyes.

Suddenly, the scenery around them turned black and white. C.C. had been pulled into Shisui Uchiha's genjutsu world.

"What do you think of this place?"

"Very good." C.C. nodded and reminded Shisui Uchiha, "However, I advise you not to attack me. This is only a clone. Using Kotoamatsukami on me would only waste your ocular power~!"

"Then what do you want from me, strange woman? I don't believe I've ever met you." There was a trace of impatience in Shisui Uchiha's cold voice.

"Oh? Did something upset you?" C.C. caught a hint of anger in his words. The Uchiha Clan really was terrible at hiding their emotions. If she were like them, Danzo would have captured her and brainwashed her long ago.

"Itachi Uchiha?"

C.C. guessed Itachi Uchiha's name and watched the change in Shisui Uchiha's expression.

When she saw the obvious distortion on Shisui Uchiha's face, C.C. smiled knowingly.

Sure enough, a traitor was still a traitor. Even though the coup d'état had become a plan to break away from Konohagakure, Itachi Uchiha had still become a traitor and told the Third Hokage about the Uchiha Clan's plans.

Then, once Danzo learned of this, he would certainly spare no effort in urging the Konoha higher-ups to pressure the Third Hokage for the Uchiha Clan's Sharingan. Given his nature, even as Hokage, the Third Hokage could not have the final say in everything concerning Konohagakure.

"It seems the destruction of the Uchiha Clan is only a matter of time."

"Shut up!!!"

Shisui Uchiha instantly appeared before C.C., the blade of his short sword pressed against her fragile neck. With the slightest downward push, he could cut through her throat.

"The Uchiha Clan is beset by trouble both within and without. How far do you think you are from extermination?" C.C. did not even glance at the short sword against her neck. If Shisui Uchiha really dared to kill this clone, then the Uchiha Clan might as well be wiped out.

"There are traitors within, while the Konoha higher-ups watch you like tigers from outside. Your Uchiha eyes are truly valuable, especially with the famous Kakashi as such a perfect example."

"You are..." Shisui Uchiha looked at the woman who gave him a familiar feeling and withdrew his short sword.

"You still haven't recognized me? I'm Naruto Uzumaki." C.C. spread her hands helplessly and mocked, "And you call yourself an Uchiha? You can't even see through my Transformation Jutsu. You might as well give those eyes to someone who needs them. Oh, and in this form, you can just call me C.C."

"Why did you come to the Konoha Military Police Force looking like this?" Shisui Uchiha stared at C.C. in shock, ignoring her mocking words.

"To shake off the Anbu, of course! I'm sick to death of being followed by the Anbu every day!" The thought of those Anbu made C.C.'s teeth itch with anger.

They had even sent female Anbu ninja to follow her to the restroom. She was practically under Anbu "protection" twenty-four hours a day—written as protection, read as surveillance.

If the Nine-Tails had not told her, she would never have known. How could there possibly be so many chance encounters in the restroom?

"If I'm not mistaken, the traitor among you Uchiha is Itachi Uchiha, right?"

"How did you know?!"

Shisui Uchiha's expression turned extremely ugly.

"It was only a guess at first. But from your reaction, I can confirm I was right. Itachi Uchiha betrayed the Uchiha Clan, and he even let you know about it."

"He told the Third Hokage that the Uchiha Clan wanted to break away from Konohagakure. The Third Hokage hopes to resolve it through negotiations."

"Do you think negotiations can resolve the conflict between the Uchiha Clan and the Konoha higher-ups?" C.C. looked at Shisui Uchiha with an ambiguous smile.

"No."

Shisui Uchiha shook his head. Things had already reached this point. Even if the Third Hokage wanted to settle it through negotiations, those Konoha higher-ups eyeing the Uchiha Clan would never agree.

"They exiled the Uchiha Clan to a corner of Konohagakure. Put nicely, it was to maintain Konoha's security and stability. Put bluntly, it was to kick the Uchiha Clan out of Konohagakure's circle of power and make you obediently guard the village."

"When they need you, they send the Uchiha Clan to the battlefield. And after Uchiha clansmen die, their corpses might even have their eyes dug out."

"Stop..."

The genjutsu world shook violently. Shisui Uchiha recalled the corpses of Uchiha clansmen who had died on the battlefield.

None of them had returned to the Uchiha Clan. Konohagakure had taken them all away. Even if he did not want to think in that direction, he understood that those clansmen's eyes had surely fallen into the hands of the Konoha higher-ups.

He thought of his clansmen, who had fought and died for Konohagakure, only to have their eyes dug out by the very village they had served after death.

One could only imagine how Shisui Uchiha felt.

Even so, C.C. had no intention of letting Shisui Uchiha off. Covering her face, she laughed wildly and spoke an even crueler reality that was harder for him to accept.

"What an obedient little dog! Unfortunately, this dog is becoming more and more dissatisfied with its master and even wants to bite back."

"Do you think Konohagakure would keep an disobedient dog?"

"Look at me, Shisui Uchiha!"

C.C. raised Shisui Uchiha's head and forced him to look at her. Her golden eyes instantly turned blood-red, their pupils becoming vertical slits filled with madness and hatred.

Seeing those eyes, Shisui Uchiha instinctively activated his Mangekyō Sharingan and met her gaze.

"Let me answer for you! Konohagakure will not spare a disobedient dog. Not only will they not spare it, they will kill it! Skin it! Eat its flesh! Drink its marrow dry! Squeeze out every last bit of its value!"

"Then they will pretend it has nothing to do with them, conceal the truth, put on the appearance of good people, and adopt whatever Uchiha Clan orphans might remain!"

"Stop talking!!!"

Shisui Uchiha shouted, and the genjutsu world instantly shattered.

C.C. looked at the sweating, heavily panting Shisui Uchiha with a dark smile on her face. Malice radiated from her body.
