Huiqi, Mougan Tanakamaru, Kiyoko Yasuhira, Kuki Urie, Matsuri Washuu, Iwao Kuroiwa, Juuzou Suzuya, and Furuta Nimura (Washuu Souta Furuta) had gathered.
"The Chief Councilor is dead, and Director Washuu fell in battle on Rushima Island. Who will take over as director now?"
Matsuri Washuu paused, then raised the issue at hand. With no one at the helm, the CCG needed a capable commander.
Everyone in the conference room fell silent. No one said a word. A position held by the Washuu Family naturally had to pass to another member of the family. Matsuri Washuu was simply trying to win their support.
As long as more than half the Special Class Investigators agreed, or Huiqi alone gave his approval, the director's seat was as good as his.
The Special Class Investigators all turned their eyes toward Huiqi. He was currently the CCG's strongest fighter. Whoever he supported, the others would follow.
Matsuri Washuu was also staring at Huiqi. As long as he spoke up, the director's seat would belong to Matsuri without question.
