Huiqi held his sword in one hand and surveyed his surroundings. Several ghouls had surrounded him from behind, while two more appeared beside Owl.
"Quite the lineup."
The ghouls here all radiated powerful presences, far beyond those of Aogiri Tree's officers. A few in particular possessed considerable strength.
"Quite the lineup... so why do I still have a bad feeling?" The Manager watched Huiqi gravely. Even with the advantage in numbers, he dared not act rashly.
"My, my, what a powerful team. But ganging up on a single human investigator hardly seems sporting." The black-robed ghoul shook his head, his tone utterly unconcerned. He seemed to want a one-on-one fight with Huiqi.
"Don't get too relaxed. He's not easy to deal with." Yoriko kept her eyes fixed on Huiqi. She could not hear his movements at all. In other words, either his speed was far above hers, or his strength vastly surpassed her own.
The ghouls coming to reinforce them were the SS-rate Ukaku ghoul Renji Yomo, the S-rate Koukaku ghoul Shuu Tsukiyama, the SS-rate Ukaku ghoul Yoriko, the SS-rate Rinkaku ghoul Uta, and Ken Kaneki, who was still on his way.
The SSS-rate Manager, three SS-rate ghouls, and an S-rate supporting them-such a terrifying lineup could slaughter its way through any CCG branch. This was not even Anteiku's full strength. If they summoned their subordinates as well, their power would be truly frightening.
Seeing this, Huiqi held his Kakuja-class Thin Wing X-1 level, then took out the Striker K-3 Quinque. Under everyone's tense gazes, he joined the two Quinques together.
When he first received these two Quinques, Jin Toka had told him they were Combination-Type weapons. Combining them would fully unleash Kakuja-class power, and he had named the result 1/2 Kakuja.
As the two weapons joined, the long blade
