"I watched him die with my own eyes." Huiqi stitched Nashiro Yasuhisa's wounds with a needle and thread.
Once he finished, Huiqi unhesitatingly sliced his hand open with his long blade and held it to Nashiro Yasuhisa's lips.
"You?!" Kurona Yasuhisa stammered beside him as she watched Huiqi feed her his blood.
"What about me? This is the best solution. My blood isn't like an ordinary person's."
Huiqi shot Kurona Yasuhisa a sidelong glance, squeezing the wound on his hand to drip blood into Nashiro's mouth.
Both watched Nashiro Yasuhisa anxiously. These next few seconds would determine whether it worked.
One second...
Two seconds...
Three seconds...
Just as despair deepened in Kurona Yasuhisa's eyes, Nashiro Yasuhisa's lips moved slightly.
"Thank goodness." Seeing this, Huiqi wiped away his sweat.
As the blood continued dripping into her mouth, life gradually returned to Nashiro Yasuhisa's eyes. Looking at the two people before her, she instinctively called out to her sister.
"I'm here. Your sister's here."
Hearing her voice, Kurona Yasuhisa gripped her younger sister's hand tightly.
"I just dreamed I was in a hot spring... It was so, so comfortable... I couldn't feel any pain."
"Mm-hmm."
"What are you agreeing with? That dream means my blood is working," Huiqi said irritably.
The three stayed in that dark space for several minutes, waiting for Nashiro Yasuhisa's body to regain its basic regenerative ability. Only then could they leave the Underground Laboratory; otherwise, her wounds reopening along the way would cause even more trouble.
"Let's get out of here." After bandaging his hand, Huiqi carefully lifted Nashiro Yasuhisa into his arms and rested her head against his shoulder.
Along the way, Huiqi stopped occasionally to wait for Kurona Yasuhisa behind him. Because of her injuries, she needed a break after every stretch of running.
