Huang Zhetian lay on his bed and began taking stock of his recent system rewards.
He glanced at his points-13,000.
Prizes: White Sword Hilt, one Resurrection Ring.
Huang Zhetian took out the Black Sword Hilt he had long since given up on, then retrieved the White Sword Hilt from the system storage.
The instant he took it out, both sword hilts began trembling! They broke free of his grip, beyond his control.
The two hilts slammed into each other and began merging! Black and white seeped into one another, leaving Huang Zhetian staring in amazement.
This was the first supernatural phenomenon he had witnessed since coming to this world. He had never seen the Resurrection Ring in action, so he had no idea whether its effects looked as impressive as these two sword hilts. For now, the hilts certainly looked better.
After at least ten minutes, the hilts transformed into the Taiji Sword Hilt.
Its appearance became mysterious and otherworldly, and the space around it warped slightly. A Taiji Diagram adorned the end of the hilt, with black and white intertwining around it.
Note: On the same level as the Spear of Longinus. Neither can overpower the other; the outcome primarily depends on the wielder's abilities. Skills: ① Draw the blade to kill, sheathe the blade to revive. (Cannot be used more than twice per day.) ② The Taiji Sword merges into one and splits into two. Catch enemies off guard in battle by alternating between the two swords. ③ Heaven and Earth Sword, God-Slaying Sword Style. Cost: Halves the wielder's lifespan. Use is not recommended. ④ Reincarnation Sword Style: Ignores everything. Instantly kills the opponent! Cost: The wielder enters a lifetime of reincarnation! Warning: Opportunities and dangers await. In severe cases, escape may be impossible!!! Use with extreme caution!!!
Huang Zhetian gaped at the skills.
This is ridiculously overpowered! Are we sure the world I transmigrated into is Neon Genesis Evangelion?
Or is this a cultivation world? I can't even... describe the look on my face anymore. It seems this sword is connected to the Music Angel.
Unless I have absolutely no other choice, I must never use those last two skills! Just looking at them, I know there's a price to pay.
Looks like Kaji can be saved. There couldn't be a better person to give the Resurrection Ring to.
He looked at the plain ring in his hand, which gave off a faint blue glow. It's time to tell the people in China... The NERV Branch in China can't be trusted.
Misato risked her life defending these people, yet they were the very culprits responsible for her father's death.
The Second Impact had been no accident.
The question of Kaji's survival was settled. As for whether Misato lived or died in the end, Huang Zhetian would save her himself. He had the Taiji Sword Hilt. Draw the blade to kill, sheathe the blade to revive.
"It's pretty similar to the hilt of the Thousand Blades Demon Sword. Only the colors and patterns are different." Huang Zhetian held the hilt, admiring it.
Having only a hilt and no blade was genuinely puzzling.
But the system's description of the hilt explained:
The wielder uses their state of mind, willpower, and mental strength to exert extraordinary control, forming their own sword body and edge.
At a thought from Huang Zhetian, the hilt in his hand immediately glowed, and the distortion in the surrounding space intensified.
A blade extended from the hilt, with elemental particles in the air filling it out.
The blade became transparent glass, refracting the reflection of his face.
He swung the sword, and thin black cracks appeared in the air-tears in space. But space quickly mended itself, returning to normal.
"Good-looking and powerful. Now I can put up a fight against Old Ikari." Huang Zhetian felt a little more reassured. Having some strength certainly made him feel safer. Who wanted to be manipulated and forced to follow someone else's script?
Huang Zhetian knew he had already been written into the script, and he had never thought of escaping it. Even if he wanted to, it would be impossible! He had no intention of doing so! He had come to this world to rewrite the plot!!!
I'll stop by the NERV Headquarters Base to see Shinji... and meet Kaji, too. I'll give him the ring...
"Zhetian, thank you for coming to see me. And thank you too, Asuka." Shinji thanked them weakly.
"I'm sorry. If only I'd been earlier. It's my fault I didn't notice... and my fault for taking so long to come see you." Huang Zhetian held his hand and replied politely.
"I'm the one who fell behind... What happened to the Angel?" Shinji asked, puzzled. He wanted to know what had become of the culprit.
"That idiot Zhetian and I defeated it! Hmph! Too bad you didn't get to see how cool we were in battle," Asuka boasted from beside them.
"As long as you're happy..." Shinji quipped.
He had rather enjoyed having Rei Ayanami care for him these past few days. He was almost reluctant to leave. Although she was still her usual self, she would respond whenever he spoke to her.
Sometimes, seeing her blush made Shinji's heart flutter. He liked her! And Rei Ayanami would sometimes give him a faint smile, too.
"I don't really know how to put it, but I've been getting along pretty well with Rei Ayanami lately..." Seeing the lovestruck expression on Shinji's face as he answered left Huang Zhetian rather speechless...
"Why don't you go out with your classmates sometime? You could climb a mountain. Mount Fuji may be gone, but there are still mountains to climb. Watching the sunrise would be nice, too!" Misato suggested as she arrived with food for everyone.
"Yes! Yes! When?" Asuka immediately perked up, asking with barely contained excitement.
"Once Shinji's feeling a little better. It'll be a good chance to relax a bit." Misato set down the food, clapped her hands, and spoke in a leisurely tone.
"Where's Kaji?" Huang Zhetian asked.
"Where is he? How should I know!" Misato turned around and replied irritably.
"I have something very important to discuss with him. Please give me his phone number," Huang Zhetian said seriously.
Misato looked at him intently for a moment, then reluctantly read out the number.
"What serious business could that guy possibly have..." Misato muttered to herself.
Huang Zhetian stepped out, closed the door behind him, and made the call in the hallway.
"Mr. Kaji? This is Zhetian. I need to talk to you about something. Hm, come outside? Meet you at the watermelon patch... Got it." Huang Zhetian hung up.
With both hands in his pockets, he strolled out leisurely.
Are these melons guaranteed to be ripe?
