"Idiot Child of God, don't you know I'm leaving in a few days? Why couldn't I find you all day?"
In a deserted corner, the young lady from Germany pinned God against the wall.
Faced with the blonde princess's fierce, imposing glare, God remained perfectly calm.
He was God, after all. Loving humanity was his duty, so why would that fluster him?
"I was carrying out my divine duties."
Shinji Ikari looked at her with such righteous conviction that Asuka felt a little ashamed beneath his holy gaze.
Perhaps his grand talk of divine duties had dazzled the girl, whose own intentions were less than pure, leaving her a little intimidated.
But she had forgotten that Shinji Ikari was a god with so little to do every day that he was bored out of his mind.
His so-called divine duties could never have involved anything as important as the fate of a nation or the world.
So that righteous air of his had absolutely no leg to stand on.
"But I'm under a lot of stress."
Kamen Rider Jeanne had once said, "Once I accept my own weakness, I'm invincible."
Asuka felt that although she had grown a great deal, she was not invincible enough yet.
Otherwise, she would have told Shinji Ikari straight out, "Come on, come inside with me," instead of dropping roundabout hints.
She wanted to grit her teeth and say it, too, but her pride ultimately left her a little less shameless than those blunt women, Misato, Ritsuko, and Rei.
"That awkward side of you is part of what makes you cute, Asuka," Shinji Ikari said.
He really had seen right through me...
Asuka wrapped her arms around his arm and said fiercely, "Come on, come inside with me."
*This was just to relieve mental stress.
