Back in Action

Inside the cabin, Su Luo placed the three prepared and roasted "rabbits" on a dining table Manjuu had hastily made.

Clapping his hands, Su Luo looked at Akashi, as well as Azi, who was obediently seated beside Akashi with a Manjuu in her arms.

"Akashi, Azi, come eat!"

"Coming, meow."

After Su Luo spoke, Akashi answered, but she did not move. She remained seated where she was, looking as though she were deep in thought. Her response to Su Luo seemed more like an instinctive reaction.

Azi, on the other hand, obediently walked over and sat beside Su Luo.

Su Luo glanced at Akashi. Seeing how absorbed she was in thought, he shook his head. Considering that she was a ship girl, he did not force her. He merely gestured for Azi to sit properly, then picked up one of the "rabbits," walked over to Akashi, and placed it in front of her.

"Akashi, remember to eat later!"

"Okay, Commander, meow."

It was still an answer that sounded almost instinctive. Su Luo looked at Akashi, who remained motionless and lost in thought, smiled, then turned and returned to the table.

"Azi, let's eat first!"

Su Luo tore off a rabbit leg from one of the "rabbits" and handed it to Azi, signaling for her to eat.

Azi looked at the steaming rabbit leg in her hand, then at Su Luo's encouraging gaze. Silently, she took a bite.

Seeing her purse her lips after trying it, as though she found it difficult to continue eating, Su Luo gave an embarrassed smile.

He knew exactly what these "rabbits" tasted like. With such rudimentary conditions and no seasonings, all he could do was prepare them simply before roasting them directly. Fortunately, perhaps because this was another world, these "rabbits" did not carry an especially strong gamey smell, so they were still edible.

Of course, they were merely edible.

"Sorry, Azi. The conditions are limited, and we don't have any seasonings. Just make do for now! Filling your stomach comes first!"

Azi looked at Su Luo's apologetic expression and silently shook her head. Then, looking at the rabbit leg in her hand, she quietly continued biting into it.

Before long, the rabbit leg had been eaten clean.

Su Luo tore off another rabbit leg for her, and Azi lowered her head and quietly ate again.

After repeating this several times, Azi had eaten half a rabbit. Finally, when Su Luo asked again, she shook her head to indicate that she was full.

Su Luo nodded to show that he understood.

Azi looked at the remaining half of the rabbit, then at the Manjuu in her arms, blinking.

Her little hand, still greasy, reached toward the remaining half of the rabbit.

Su Luo watched Azi, somewhat puzzled by what she was doing, but he did not stop her. He simply watched quietly.

Then Su Luo saw the following scene.

Azi shredded the rabbit meat, then silently placed the strips in front of the Manjuu in her arms.

The Manjuu in Azi's arms blinked at the meat strips before it. Its entire little body resisted. It normally did not need to eat... and even if it did, it did not eat this kind of thing.

Watching the Manjuu's reluctant yet hesitant expression from the side, Su Luo burst out laughing.

"Alright, Azi, Manjuu doesn't eat this. You don't need to worry about its food. Akashi will be responsible for replenishing its energy!"

Azi looked at Su Luo somewhat blankly, then at the shredded meat in her hand and the Manjuu that clearly did not want to eat it. Dejectedly, she lowered her hand.

Manjuu knew full well what its responsibilities were. Seeing Azi's disappointment, its entire body jolted, and it immediately twisted its round little body around as it rubbed against her in her arms.

"Chirp."

Seeing Manjuu suddenly make a sound and continuously wriggle in her arms, Azi gradually broke into a smile.

Su Luo watched from the side with a similarly gratified smile. Yes, the feeling of raising a daughter had returned!

"Mmm, it smells so good, meow. Commander, have you already prepared those 'rabbits' we caught, meow?"

Akashi's voice came from the side, drawing Su Luo and Azi's attention.

Once Azi's attention had shifted, the Manjuu in her arms also breathed a sigh of relief. Making its round little body wriggle like that was rather difficult for it!

Akashi looked at the "rabbit" in front of her, which was still giving off some heat, with a happy expression.

Her Commander had made this himself! None of the girls back in the port, not even the Commander's married ship girls, had eaten it before!

"Commander, it's my fault! I forgot to take out the appropriate seasonings!"

Su Luo saw Akashi's silence and had just wanted to apologize, but before he could finish, Akashi apologized first.

Pots, bowls, ladles, oil, salt, soy sauce, vinegar... there were even some household appliances and a simple generator...

Outside the Angel Nebula, several demon squads quietly approached.

As they neared the border of the Angel Nebula, the demon squads scattered in unspoken coordination, heading toward different target planets.

Approaching from a different direction than the incoming demon squad, but with the same destination, Zhixin was also on her way!

Su Luo and Akashi knew nothing of any of this!
