In the ruins of Old Tokyo City, Glenfire was locked in a fierce battle with the Volcano Bird, Birdon.
Facing Glenfire, Birdon opened his enormous beak and gathered a huge ball of fire in his mouth.
"Woo-ao-!" Birdon opened his massive beak and spewed a blast of searing flames at Glenfire.
Guren remained completely unfazed, planting his hands on his hips and letting the enormous blast wash over him.
Birdon's continuous stream of fire swallowed Guren's body.
The nearby abandoned buildings were engulfed in flames, but a figure still stood tall amid the dangerous blaze.
Birdon stopped breathing fire, looking somewhat puzzled.
As the flames cleared, Guren swept one hand over his head, and a plume of fire instantly rose from it.
He taunted, "Your flames really are as weak as I expected."
"Let me teach you how it's done!" With that, flames ignited around Guren's fist as he swung it at Birdon.
Guren punched Birdon in the head. A burst of fire exploded on impact, knocking Birdon back.
"Let this warm you up!" Guren raised his hand and aimed at Birdon, unleashing a scorching stream of flames of his own.
The flames struck Birdon, setting some of his feathers alight.
But the attack did little real damage. Birdon originally lived in a volcano, so his resistance to fire was already quite high.
"Looks like you've got a little skill after all..." Guren was far from satisfied.
"Guren, watch out for his beak! It's venomous!" Zero's warning rang out in Guren's mind.
His Seniors Zoffy, Taro, and Mebius, as well as his juniors Victory, X, and Orb, had all suffered from Birdon's venom. Zero naturally knew the risks.
