Zero fought Zero Killer in Cosmo Miracle form, but the enemy matched his techniques and overwhelmed him with an endless supply of energy. Zero was left badly injured, his Color Timer sounding as he struggled to stay on his feet.

• Hayato and Alien Yapool watched as Shinji transformed Zero into Cosmo Miracle Zero to withstand Zero Killer’s attack.
• Zero and Zero Killer exchanged blows, and Zero Killer overpowered Zero in close combat, smashing him through a building.
• Zero attacked with the Ultra Brothers’ techniques, but Zero Killer matched each one and drove them back.

Dark Radiant Sky Claw Zero fought Razor Demagorga after Alien Yapool fused with the Super Beast, while Kaworu Nagisa helped NERV defuse the bombs on the EVAs. The chapter left Zero exhausted and downed after Razor Demagorga shattered his barrier with a barrage of attacks.

Kaworu Nagisa piloted Pedanium Unit-03 against Verokron and Doragory, enduring their attacks and striking back with help from the UN Army. After Ritsuko supplied the Super Iron-Core Spiral Fist, Unit-03 drilled through Doragory’s weak point, leaving him gravely wounded.

• Pedanium Unit-03 and the UN Army attacked Verokron and Doragory, but the Super Beasts counterattacked and Verokron blasted Unit-03 with missiles at close range.
• Doragory grabbed Unit-03 from behind and bit its shoulder, injecting venom before Kaworu Nagisa struck him with the Pedanium Cannon and broke free.

Zero, Ace, Taro, and the Leo brothers combined their strength to defeat Razor Demagorga and Alien Yapool after Zero repelled the Other Dimension Lightning. As Zero recovered from the final attack, a yellow crystal fell unnoticed somewhere in the city.

• Razor Demagorga unleashed Other Dimension Lightning, and Zero countered it with his Clustered Cosmo Miracle Ray as Ace supplied energy.
• The Leo brothers struck Baxim and Aribunta with Leo Kicks, while Taro defeated Baraba with its own Spiked Mace.
• Taro and the Leo brothers transferred energy to Zero as Ace and the others urged him to keep fighting, empowering his ray to overpower the lightning and close the dimensional rupture.
• Ace combined his Space Q Ray with Zero's Spark Blade, and Zero used the Space Plasma Spark Slash to sever Razor Demagorga and defeat Alien Yapool.

The Ultra Warriors and Pedanium Unit-03 defeated Alien Yapool’s Super Beasts, then regrouped with Shinji as the seniors shared their hopes for Earth and the next generation. Seiji Hokuto passed his wish to Shinji before departing as Ultraman Ace.

• Taro, Ace, Leo, Astra, and Pedanium Unit-03 defeated Baraba, Baxim, Aribunta, Verokron, and Doragory, ending Alien Yapool’s attack.

• Fuyutsuki and Gendo Ikari discussed their secret preparations, the mass-produced units, and the limits of the Lance of Longinus.
• Gendo Ikari told Fuyutsuki that Kaji was investigating the research institute explosion and Tyrant’s appearance in Eagle Nation, and warned that Kaji could be in danger.
• Fuyutsuki saw Tokyo-3’s destruction from the helicopter and asked where the mountain had gone and whether the city was still Tokyo-3.
• Tokyo-3’s cleanup crews began gathering Super Beast debris as drones investigated abnormal readings where the sky had split open.
• A black mist enveloped and took Razor Demagorga’s golden crystal, as a voice declared that it could tip the balance of everything.

Shinji and Zero collapsed after their wounds reopened, and Kaworu Nagisa took Shinji to the hospital. Zero later returned in a tiny, weakened projection, where Rei Ayanami and Asuka reassured Kaworu Nagisa that they trusted and accepted him as an Angel.

• Shinji passed out as Zero's chest and waist wounds reopened, and Zero's projection vanished after asking Kaworu Nagisa to look after Shinji.
• Kaworu Nagisa took Shinji to the hospital and reflected on how Zero's actions had changed Shinji and the Lilin.
• Rei Ayanami and Asuka arrived at the hospital, and a doctor told them Shinji was stable and out of danger.

• SEELE's council members argued about Hayato's latest unauthorized actions and the Ultramen who had appeared in Tokyo-3.
• Hayato emerged from a spatial rift with a golden crystal and told SEELE it came from Razor Demagorga's head.
• Hayato showed SEELE his analysis for the D4 Ray, a weapon powered by other-dimensional energy that could tear dimensions apart.
• Hayato recalled that he had used Alien Yapool to weaken Zero and obtain a weapon capable of destroying him.
• Chairman Ghir proposed mounting the D4 Ray on the special EVA, and its enormous body and single eye appeared on the screen.

After the others left Shinji’s hospital room, Zero collapsed from the pain of his injuries and dreamed of seeing his mother. The Mother of Ultra ordered him to return to the Land of Light for treatment, but he bargained to stay on Earth temporarily, and Shinji woke up asking what was really wrong with him.

• Zero sent Asuka, Rei Ayanami, and Kaworu Nagisa away, and Asuka returned to kiss Shinji’s forehead.
• Zero collapsed as his injuries overwhelmed him, then dreamed of his father holding him and saw his mother’s face clearly for the first time.
• The Mother of Ultra appeared and warned Zero that his body was close to collapse and that he had to return to the Land of Light for treatment.

• Limings and Mebius defeated Devil Splinter-driven Kelbim, Dorako, and Bemstar, protected the planet’s inhabitants, and brought the splinters back for destruction.
• Mebius and Limings stopped for curry at the human cafeteria, but an urgent summons called them to Space Garrison headquarters.
• Limings briefed Father of Ultra, Mother of Ultra, and the Ultra Brothers on Zero’s accumulated injuries, including worsening wounds from Galactron MK2 and his recent battles.
• Ultraseven offered to relieve Zero, but Father of Ultra refused because Ultraseven’s Andromeda Nebula mission was unfinished; Mother of Ultra said Zero had been ordered to return for treatment once the Jean Brothers brought him energy.

She chose to live as an independent person, and the chapter ended with her forming new relationships, including developing feelings for Kaworu Nagisa.

• Rei Ayanami concluded that bonds were ties she could form for herself and that finding them was part of discovering her own existence.
• Rei Ayanami threw away Gendo Ikari’s glasses and chose to live as an independent person who would build her own relationships.
