"Wenwu, you seem a little too... cautious."
After struggling for a while, Motoyasu Kitamura finally came up with a relatively tactful adjective. He had originally wanted to say that Chuan Wenwu was being too much of a coward.
He declared confidently, "We're heroes! Heroes with the power to save the world! Why should we be afraid of those stubborn holdouts? If they dare oppose us, they can find out just how sharp my spear is!"
"Exactly! The higher-ups in this Kingdom really are rotten. I could tell back when they tried to slander you, Wenwu! They're no different from those medieval nobles in the history books. Vermin, every last one!" Recalling what he had read in those books, Itsuki Kawasumi narrowed his eyes and muttered, "If they insist on making enemies of us, my bow won't show them any mercy."
Ren Amaki ran his fingers along his blade and said, "It's just one Slave Trader. I've already punished dozens of bandits and robbers. This would be nothing. There's no need to be so hesitant."
Chuan Wenwu shook his head. "But those slaves still bear the marks of the Slave Curse. With a mere thought, the Slave Trader can subject them to torment they can't resist. If we attack him rashly, who can predict whether he'll use the Slave Curse to force those innocent slaves to serve as disposable pawns?"
"There's slave trading in the Royal City, but it certainly isn't the only place where it happens. Across the vast Kingdom of Melromarc, there must be countless profit-hungry Slave Traders scattered everywhere. If we make a move, we'll alert the rest. It's always better to be cautious, so we need to come up with a suitable approach-one that shuts down their slave trade while keeping as many of those slaves alive
