After hearing what the two had to say,
Meng Fan walked to the bed, crouched down, and looked underneath.
The space beneath the bed was empty, with enough room for an adult to lie flat.
He wiped a finger across the floor.
His finger came away clean.
"Did Miss Kawahana usually keep things clean?"
"My daughter was usually very lazy. The nanny always came into her room to clean."
"Is the nanny here?"
"Because my daughter suddenly disappeared, the nanny was terrified that the same thing might happen to her. She quit and went home before you arrived."
"Can you still reach her?"
"I was going to send her some extra money today, but I found I couldn't reach her anymore," Kawahana's father said helplessly.
"Meng Fan, do you suspect the nanny?" Tenten asked from beside him.
"She is a suspect. After all, the nanny was always the first person to enter the scene."
