"Hmm?"
The moment Ei saw the book, she frowned.
Her first reaction was that this was a prank by Yae Miko.
But a second later, she dismissed that idea.
Knowing Yae Miko as well as she did, she was certain Miko would never resort to a trick like this.
This wasn't Yae Miko's style, either.
"She knows you love sweets, and this book was placed beneath them."
"In that case, the sweets were just a pretext. This book was what she really wanted to bring you."
The Shogun's voice rang out in Ei's mind.
Ei nodded. Since Yae Miko wanted her to read this book, she might as well take a look.
With that, Ei picked up the novel from the basket and began reading.
A note before reading "The Tyrannical Electro Archon Falls in Love with Me":
This is a book within a book, so it won't follow the game's setting to the letter.
In "The Tyrannical Electro Archon Falls in Love with Me," the Raiden Shogun's characterization or the setting may differ completely from those in the game.
Since "The Tyrannical Electro Archon Falls in Love with Me" was, in theory, written by Ellin and isn't Genshin Impact fan fiction, it won't follow the game's setting exactly.
For example, at this point, Ei spends years secluded in the Plane of Euthymia. In "The Tyrannical Electro Archon Falls in Love with Me," however, while she does go into seclusion there, she also goes out for walks from time to time.
Likewise, Ei is rather imposing in the game, but in The Tyrannical Shogun Falls in Love with Me, she sometimes gets shy.
That's how the story is set up, so please don't get too hung up on it.
