Kokomi and the Mist Demon God staged a fierce battle so he could escape the Abyss Order without losing face. After he vanished, Kokomi turned to the Abyss Mages, who had been inspired by his apparent resolve.

• The Mist Demon God proposed that he and Kokomi fake a battle, with her defeating him so he could make a convincing escape, and Kokomi agreed.
• Kokomi and the Mist Demon God performed an explosive fight while Greed chatted with Zhong Baiye, leading the Abyss Mages to question Greed and cheer for the Mist Demon God.
• The Mist Demon God repeatedly hurled himself into Kokomi’s attacks and acted injured, while the watching Abyss Order members believed the battle was real.

Greed tricked Zhong Baiye into taking the Raiden Shogun’s Musou no Hitotachi, but a voice answering Zhong Baiye’s summons unleashed a catastrophic power. Zhong Baiye, Greed, and Pride vanished, leaving behind a vast, barren region on Narukami Island.

• As Pride awakened and gathered Electro, the Raiden Shogun prepared her Musou no Hitotachi while Zhong Baiye fought Greed.

Gravely injured Zhong Baiye awoke on a vast version of Narukami Island, unable to control elemental power and unable to find the Grand Narukami Shrine or sense the Raiden Shogun. After his legs gave out, two sisters who looked exactly like the Raiden Shogun appeared before him, leaving him uncertain of their intentions.

• Zhong Baiye woke in a forest on Narukami Island and discovered that he could not control elemental power.
• He crossed the immense forest and found the mountain where the Grand Narukami Shrine should have stood, but the shrine was gone and the island stretched far beyond his memory.
• Zhong Baiye realized he could not sense the Raiden Shogun anywhere on the island.
• His legs gave out, and Zhong Baiye realized his mistaken assumption that he could use elemental power had made his calculations wrong.
• Two sisters approached Zhong Baiye, and he was shocked to see that both looked exactly like the Raiden Shogun.

Lei Zhen and Lei Ying rescued the injured Zhong Baiye and brought him to their village, where Lei Zhen remained suspicious of him. The chapter ended with Lei Zhen putting lightning handcuffs on Zhong Baiye while Lei Ying chose not to intervene.

As the sky’s upheaval filled the air with volatile Pyro, Lei Zhen led Lei Ying and Zhong Baiye toward the Grand Narukami Shrine, where a mysterious white-haired goddess confronted them. The goddess dismissed Lei Zhen’s offer to surrender Zhong Baiye, and prepared to attack.

• Rising temperatures and scattered Pyro flames threatened Teyvat, so Lei Zhen protected the villagers with a Barrier and fled with Lei Ying and Zhong Baiye.
• At the foot of the mountain, a white-haired goddess appeared and fixed her attention on Zhong Baiye, whose memories of her became distorted.
• Lei Zhen manifested an enormous, solid humanoid puppet wielding a lightning Tachi, revealing power far beyond Zhong Baiye’s.

The black-robed Zhong Baiye preserved history while the white-robed Zhong Baiye departed, and years later Zhong Baiye began another cycle at Liyue’s Rite of Descension.
