The upheaval struck without warning!
"Have they recognized us?" Kafka asked, still shaken.
"I spoofed the ship's entire set of identification codes and hacked into their port systems. There's no way they could have recognized us." Silver Wolf's expression was grave.
Then Kafka's eyes slowly widened.
"What's gotten into them!"
She looked out the window. Countless ships were firing on one another. The enormous vessel from the Corporation's Trailblaze Department drew the heaviest concentrated fire and broke into several sections!
Under countless terrified gazes, one of those sections slowly bore down on the Spaceport!
The Starport crumbled bit by bit, and the Space Elevator beneath it began snapping apart, section by section.
Farther away, the Warp Tunnel was caught in the upheaval. Its massive ring shattered into several pieces in an instant, and the Artificial Wormhole, no longer constrained, began to collapse.
Small black holes began forming one after another. The sublight ships lingering nearby had no time to react!
They fired up every engine in an attempt to escape, but the black holes behind them still dragged them back, bit by bit.
To the people aboard those ships, this struggle would feel brief, perhaps no more than a few minutes.
But to outside observers, it would last a very, very long time.
Black holes slowed the passage of time nearby. An hour spent beside one could mean years had passed in the outside world.
In theory, if they could exceed the speed of light, they had a chance of escaping. But for these sublight ships, once they were caught within a black hole event horizon, escape would be impossible forever!
The black holes that had suddenly appeared were like ravenous mouths, madly devouring everything around them.
The sight made Silver Wolf's scalp prickle. She murmured:
