When Jingliu said "all night," Xianyu quickly realized where he had slipped up.
The reason was none other than the message he had casually sent her.
He was not surprised that Jingliu had deduced he had stayed up all night from that message.
As for the shower... Xianyu had only dried his hair halfway, so it was perfectly normal for Jingliu to notice.
What Xianyu could not understand was how Jingliu had figured out he had been drinking. And why was she angry?
Her train of thought really did jump around... even he could no longer keep up with her.
Just as he was about to say something to bluff his way through, Jingliu seemed to remember something. Her brow creased slightly, and she abruptly asked:
"During the time we sparred together, you stayed up seven nights in a row waiting for me, didn't you?"
That question left Xianyu speechless. For a moment, he had no idea what to say.
He had not expected Jingliu to dredge up that old incident.
Keeping his expression unchanged, Xianyu reached to take the takeout from Jingliu while weighing his words, hoping to talk his way out of it.
But Jingliu did not play along. She stayed silent, giving Xianyu no chance to explain. Carrying the takeout in one hand, she took his hand with the other and led him farther inside.
Once they reached the dining room, Jingliu set the takeout on the table and pulled Xianyu down into a seat.
With a frosty expression, she met his eyes. After staring at him for a while, she was the first to give in and speak:
"We agreed that, from then on, you would tell me right away if anything happened."
"So anything that happened before that doesn't count?"
Xianyu answered with a smile.
