Xianyu had thought Zandar would devote himself to research in the days ahead. Never had he expected the man to take such an interest in his relationship with Jingliu.
The next day, his Jade Abacus was bombarded with messages from Zandar.
Xianyu stared at the papers from various fields that Zandar had sent him, speechless for a long time.
Zandar, I can understand the psychology papers, but why are there economics and biology papers too?!
Xianyu did not understand, but he was profoundly shocked.
Using psychological effects to grow closer to a lover was reasonable enough.
But what did romance have to do with economics or biology?
Unable to help himself, Xianyu called Zandar directly.
"Zandar, I'll let the psychology papers slide, but why did you send me papers on economics and biology too?"
Zandar, however, offered a perfectly coherent explanation, linking economic terminology to relationships between men and women.
Something about making the other person invest in costs they could never recover in the future...
Only by making the other person invest enough money, time, and energy could you cloud their judgment when problems arose in the relationship, leaving them unable to let it go. That way, they would never leave him.
The longer Xianyu listened, the more wrong it sounded.
Even someone with mental problems like him thought Zandar's views were twisted... which meant there really was something wrong with them.
Then Xianyu reconsidered. How normal could the teacher who had raised him possibly be?
Since Zandar was his teacher, he spared the man's dignity and did not contradict him outright. Instead, he skipped over the subject and asked about the biology papers.
Zandar replied with absolute conviction:
"Fundamentally, love is a biochemical reaction. Look at this paper. The research team conducted an experiment using monogamous prairie voles-"
