"Help? What help?"
Killer had actually fallen asleep. The moment she heard the key word, she snapped awake.
"!!!!!"
Seeing Insanity sitting obediently beside her, Killer got such a fright that she launched herself out of her chair, performed several backflips in midair, then drew her dagger and pointed it at Insanity.
Insanity had genuinely traumatized her.
Back when she was in Stage 2, she had happened to run into Insanity.
She had assumed Insanity was an ordinary Sans and figured she might as well finish her off.
She had never expected to be facing a powerhouse.
Insanity had bombarded Killer with every kind of ultimate attack without a care for her own life.
Her fighting style was all about trading blood for blood, too.
Killer had fled in terror. That maniac's HP had looked practically bottomless. With only 1 HP herself, Killer honestly couldn't compete with that level of insanity.
Killer had immediately escaped through a spacetime rift, only for Insanity to keep chasing and attacking her. It had taken several universes before she finally managed to shake her off.
After that, Killer had been left with a lasting fear of Insanity.
And now, the moment she woke up, there was Insanity. This...
What a wonderful surprise.
"Don't be so nervous, other me."
Insanity gestured for her to relax.
"The one you met must have been the old me. I really was pretty crazy back then-in all kinds of ways. Now I only go crazy when I'm fighting, so don't worry."
"..."
Don't worry, my freaking ass.
Despite that, Killer slowly sat back down.
She chose a seat three chairs away from Insanity.
"All right... a handshake is always the way to greet a new friend. Come on, let's shake hands first."
Murder reached out and took Insanity's hand.
Her hand was tiny, and there was no whoopee cushion in it.
Killer reluctantly came over and shook Insanity's other hand.
"I'm Sans. Sans the skeleton. They... the other versions of me across the multiverse call me Insanity. You can call me that, too."
"I'm Sans, too. You can call me Murder."
Insanity nodded. She already knew that.
"I... should be Sans, too. You can call me Killer."
Once the basic introductions and greetings were over, Insanity's expression grew serious.
"All right... I came here because I was hoping you could do me a favor."
"Wait, how do you know we'll help you?"
"Uh... a guy wearing a black hat and yellow-themed clothes made a deal with me. He'd send me to people who could help me, and in exchange, he'd put a surveillance device on me and observe me up close for a while."
Insanity set the skull in her hand on the table and pinched her chin with her little hand.
"Well, you've certainly come to the right place. The two of us love helping people."
"Really? That's a relief~..."
Insanity rested a hand on Murder's shoulder.
"All right, I won't keep you guessing. Those three Sans seem to have some way of tracking me, too. I need you to help me fight them, because I can't beat all three on my own."
"...Wait, you're saying they can track you?"
"That's right. I've been looking for help across the multiverse, but they've been chasing me the whole time, so I haven't had a chance."
"But then that yellow Sans appeared. His arrival brought the entire world to a halt, including those three."
"He told me his name was Bill Sans and made a deal with me. I had no choice at the time. Those three were right on my heels. As far as they were concerned, they'd either drag me into their team or kill me. Apparently, they have a pretty stubborn boss who's dead set on putting together some kind of triple murder."
"And then... we ended up here."
Killer thought for a moment.
"That's possible. Nightmare can track negative emotions, and you've done plenty of killing. There's a good chance he's locked onto you. In that case, Murder, what do you think?"
"...If that Nightmare you mentioned isn't one of the three, I don't mind helping."
"He definitely isn't. I remember... their leader looked a lot like you, but wore Paps's cape. Besides him, there was another one... who looked like you, but had a bull's-eye-shaped soul."
Insanity pointed at Killer.
"The last one... was a pretty tall male, also a Sans. He had a huge wound on his head and carried a meat cleaver and an axe. He's probably strong in close combat."
"...That lineup... is..."
Killer recalled Nightmare telling her something about putting together a four-member team to harvest negative emotions, one that would specialize in creating negative emotions across the multiverse.
This was probably the team he had meant.
She had run away, so Nightmare had found another Killer to replace her.
Or... this Nightmare was the result of some other timeline, different from her own.
Either way, as long as Nightmare wasn't there, she didn't mind doing this favor.
Killer glanced at Insanity.
She hadn't expected this skull-carrying warrior with a young girl's build to be so normal.
Still, it made sense. She herself was an example, after all.
If they helped her, she would reset her universe once she returned.
Wouldn't that mean saving an entire world?
Besides, intercepting a team that manufactured negative emotions across the multiverse was right in their line of work.
"All right... let's go. We'll find somewhere suitable for a fight and wait for them to come."
