The stone maze was enormous, like a vast natural mine. An ordinary person could easily get lost inside.
Killer had a decent sense of direction, but even she couldn't figure out which way to go right away.
While searching for an exit, Killer noticed that many places seemed deliberately designed to provide hiding spots.
Was I supposed to hide so I wouldn't get caught?
Killer was a little curious. Judging by what that guy had said earlier, had he designed this place?
Besides those hiding spots, there were plenty of torches and spikes.

Distinct footsteps came from up ahead. Could that be Horror Sonic?
After all, he was the one who'd said he wanted to play hide-and-seek with her. Surely it couldn't be Murder and the others?
To be safe, Killer ducked into a hiding spot that looked deliberately designed for her and peeked out from behind it.

The footsteps stopped. Killer raised her gaze slightly and saw Horror Sonic from earlier.
His overall appearance was just like what she'd seen in the game, but the whites of his eyes had turned black, and his pupils had turned blood-red.
He looked downright creepy.
He glanced around, then continued forward after failing to spot Killer.
Only after that thing disappeared from sight did Killer dare to move on.
Along the way, Killer also discovered plenty of oversized yellow and red springs.
Even though stepping on one might cause trouble... Killer couldn't resist and stepped onto a yellow spring.

The spring launched Killer into the air.
"So this is what that hedgehog in the game feels like? It really is pretty fun."
To test what the red springs did, Killer gave one of those a light step too.
Well, stepping on that one didn't feel nearly as fun.
