"Mm...!"
Murder climbed out of the yellow petals, his head covered in their shimmering blooms.
"Do you fall from somewhere really high every time you go to another universe?"
"...Uh... of course not... I'm confused too..."
Killer's head was also covered in yellow petals, and she was busy brushing them off.
"There seems to be some mysterious force in this timeline interfering with my intrusion..."
"A mysterious force?"
The likeliest possibility Murder could think of was that guy who spoke with his hands, though the human was another possibility.
"Killer, do you think it's ▇▇▇?"
"▇▇▇?"
Killer seemed startled. She hurried over to Murder and made a shushing gesture.
"That... just think it. Don't say it out loud."
Murder shrugged and headed straight ahead with Killer.
They walked all the way into the Ruins. Their surroundings were eerily empty and desolate, with not a Froggit in sight.
"A timeline with a killer in it..."
Killer passed her judgment on this timeline. She could already see the beginnings of genocide.
"..."
Murder said little, but his brow furrowed slightly.
The two continued onward, passing through the Ruins, which were filled with the dust left behind by fallen monsters.
They pushed open the doors of the Ruins, and a flurry of snow swept down over them.
Naturally, it couldn't snow underground. These snowflakes were all made by Dr. Alphys using special technology.
The two kept following the path, crossing the bridge Papyrus had widened and passing the sentry station. Sure enough, there wasn't a single monster around.
Before long, they reached Snowdin.
"Snowdin is just as quiet..."
Murder approached the large house Sans rented in this universe and tried to push the door open. Unsurprisingly, he failed.
"Looks like Papyrus made sure to lock up before leaving."
Murder took out his key and unlocked the door, and the two went inside together.
"Murder, look here."
Killer pointed at the open refrigerator. It was actually full of little white dogs.
"Uh...?"
Murder rubbed his chin and motioned for Killer to shut the refrigerator door.
They didn't linger in the house in this timeline. Instead, they continued onward, soon arriving in Waterfall.
The echo flowers scattered everywhere lent the place a leisurely atmosphere, their recorded voices playing one after another like a symphony.
Everything was just as it always was, Murder thought. Until...
"..."
"..."
The two stared at the white door before them in silence.
"This door... it wasn't here before, was it?"
Murder knew the entire map like the back of his hand, but he had absolutely no memory of this door.
"...Murder, you were right earlier."
Killer cautiously opened the door, revealing nothing but empty darkness.
"Now I'm certain... the force that interfered with me earlier came from ▇▇▇."
Killer leaned right up against Murder to say the last part. Clearly, she had little fondness for the person who spoke with his hands.
Leaving the door half closed, the two set off again.
This time, they wasted no more time. Using a shortcut, they appeared directly at the back entrance to the corridor.
The moment they appeared in the corridor, the thunderous sounds of battle came from ahead. They exchanged a glance, then rushed toward the source together.
Bang!!!
The battle stopped abruptly. Struck by the human's blade, ULB slid some distance across the floor.
"Hah... hah... pfft...!"
Spitting out a mouthful of blood, ULB struggled to her feet, a smile returning to her face.
Sans HP 0.000001 / 1
She wasn't dead yet! The blade that should have killed her had veered strangely off course just before striking ULB, as though some mysterious being had interfered with it!
"Heh heh heh... kid..."
ULB drank a bottle of ketchup she had pulled from who knew where, restoring her HP to 1.
"Looks like Lady Luck is on my side today..."
ULB took out a very long bone. Her eyes shone white, visibly more serious than ever before.
The intensity radiating from the two combatants kept rising, exerting an invisible, relentless pressure on their surroundings.
Suddenly, without warning, the human was sent flying backward-it was gravity magic. Someone had cast gravity magic on the human!
ULB looked around. She hadn't done anything...?
Just as ULB wondered who was responsible, the air around her suddenly burst outward, and two figures dressed similarly to her appeared at her side.
