After the Evil Spirit swallowed Linde, it immediately quieted down, as though... it had been after Linde from the start.

"He'll be fine," Frisk said, though it was hard to tell whether she was comforting Carlret or herself.

Carlret shook his head. Throughout recorded history, no creature swallowed by an Evil Spirit had ever returned alive.

Yet for some reason, perhaps because Linde had already demonstrated so much power beyond his understanding, he felt that if anyone could make it out alive, it might truly be Linde.

Linde was shielding himself with the Light Soul Reaction Formula to avoid being completely consumed by the immense amount of corruptive power inside the Evil Spirit's belly.

But the disgusting tentacles growing inside were hammering against his shield of light. He felt that the soul formula would not hold much longer.

The biggest problem, however, was that this was a sealed space, with an entrance but no exit.

Unless he used magic, there was no way he could get out.

So, did he have to use that mask again...?

Linde reached toward the void, only to discover that the rules of space here were completely different. He could not open the Spatial Rift at all!

Strangely calm, Linde considered various ways to escape.

The Evil Spirit's power felt so familiar... Where had I seen it before...?

Could it be-! Linde suddenly remembered the Tainted Crest he had practiced with earlier.

These two powers were so similar, so I could... Damn it! I couldn't use magic right now!

Just as Linde was at his wits' end, the Evil Spirit suddenly spat him out somewhere on the seabed.

Linde hurriedly used the Water Soul Reaction Formula on himself, merging with the water to keep the crushing pressure of the deep sea from killing him.
