"Charlie, your hand... oh dear..." Molly gazed at the flame-shaped burn on the back of Charlie's hand, her heart aching.
"Why didn't you heal it with magic?"
"Didn't get the chance." Charlie grinned.
After several months apart, Charlie was even sturdier and more tanned than before, and he looked full of energy.
He raised his hand. "A black dragon suddenly broke free of its binding spells. It took more than a dozen of us casting emergency Stunning Spells together to knock it out, but some sparks from its nostrils landed on my hand.
"I couldn't spare it any attention then, and by the time I got around to treating it, it was already pretty difficult to fix. I thought I'd keep it as a reminder, so I didn't worry too much. Besides, I think having a scar looks pretty manly."
He showed the scar to his younger brothers. "Look. Cool scar, right?"
"Cool!" Ron nodded at once, looking utterly sincere.
Charlie's scar was slightly red, and with its shape, it looked like a dancing flame whenever he moved his hand. It really did look rather good.
Ron had always envied the lightning bolt on Harry's forehead. Now, seeing his brother "holding" a flame in his hand, he wished he could get one himself.
The Twins nodded repeatedly too, agreeing that the scar looked extremely manly.
"Charlie, can you recreate that? I want one too," Fred said eagerly.
"Fred, you get one on your left hand, and I'll get one on my right. Then Mum won't have trouble telling us apart." George grinned.
Then the two of them received another lesson from their mother's iron fists.
"I'd rather never be able to tell you apart for the rest of my life than see you hurt," Molly said angrily.
Everyone else laughed
