Zhang Xiao leaned against the classroom podium, looking at the circle of young wizards below. His Dueling Club was invitation-only; fewer members meant more time to spend on each person.
Besides, his own time was limited. He needed to devote considerable energy to his Daoist Order cultivation, so it was better to leave broader instruction to Malfoy and Harry.
The oldest was the fourth-year Cedric Diggory. Zhang Xiao had initially hesitated over inviting him, since he was already in his fourth year, but Cedric had turned out to be delighted.
At the Charms Club, he had already seen how highly Penelope and Professor Flitwick thought of Zhang Xiao, and he was certain he could learn something from him.
Apart from Cedric, most of the others were people Zhang Xiao knew fairly well.
Gryffindor: Harry, Ron, Hermione, Neville
Zhang Xiao had not originally intended to invite so many Gryffindors. Ideally, there would have been one or two people from each house, who could then teach the rest of their housemates. But the Three Little Ones came as a package; none of them would be happy if anyone was left out. Neville's invitation was pure favoritism.
Slytherin: Malfoy, Davis, Pansy Parkinson
Pansy was an interesting young witch. She did not really have a position of her own; her position was whatever Malfoy's was. Whatever Draco did, she supported him unconditionally. She was hopelessly lovesick, beyond saving.
Davis represented Slytherin's half-blood and Muggle-born students. Having suffered bullying himself, he was now a staunch supporter of the Azure Luan Society and highly active in it. His grades were also among the best in his year, and Zhang Xiao thought he had a promising future.
Ravenclaw: Cho Chang
Zhang Xiao had not had much contact with Cho. They had only seen each other around school
