"Water-Walking Potions? What are those?"
"How do they compare with merpeople potions?"
"What are merpeople potions supposed to be?" Malfoy's trademark sneer appeared as he pointed at the azure Water-Walking Potions and explained:
"Remember Gillyweed? Water-Walking Potions use it too, but Gillyweed has side effects. You can't eat too much in a short period, or the changes become irreversible."
The young wizards nodded vigorously. Hermione and Neville had both explained those side effects.
"But the Water-Walking Potions Professor Snape brewed eliminate those side effects and last longer!"
"Ooh!" the young wizards exclaimed together. Ron said in bewilderment, "Snape made these? He's actually that good?
"I always thought he wasn't much good at anything except brewing ordinary potions."
Huh? Snape? Not much good at anything?
Zhang Xiao nearly lost his composure. Honestly, Snape had simply been hiding his abilities all along, which was why he wasn't particularly famous in the Wizarding World.
By his sixth year, he had already been able to propose extensive revisions to the textbook that produced better results. That sort of talent made him the Nicolas Flamel of potions.
Zhang Xiao even suspected that Slughorn, the former Slytherin Head of House, fell short of Snape.
"Ron, you really should pay more attention to potions. Professor Snape is actually extremely skilled. Haven't you noticed that some of the techniques he teaches us in Potions Class differ from the textbook?"
The young witch could tolerate Ron's failings in other areas, but she couldn't stand his "disrespect for knowledge." Hermione earnestly countered:
"Being able to revise a textbook and continually produce new potions is more than enough proof of Professor Snape's ability."
Finally, she shrugged and added:
"I don't like Professor Snape either, but I don't think we should doubt his abilities..."
