"It might be something with immense power. It looks familiar."
John raised an eyebrow and called to Daisy and the intern, "Stand farther back."
Daisy took two steps back.
"Farther," John said.
Daisy grabbed the intern and ran back.
They only stopped once they were behind the red car they had driven there.
Jane was puzzled, unsure what John intended to do.
John told Thor, "Just so we're clear, this is only to show you how dangerous it is."
Without that warning, John feared Thor would charge him eighty a swing and bring his big hammer down on him.
Thor was equally baffled.
John raised his right hand, and an invisible force dragged the car Daisy was hiding behind toward them at speed.
"Jane!" Daisy cried out.
Thor tensed, ready to rush over.
John pressed his left hand against Thor's chest.
Jane had never expected John to attack her.
The car hurtled straight at her.
A second before it struck Jane, a surge of dark red energy flung the approaching car away.
Jane felt the world spin and collapsed to the ground, her head swimming.
Thor stared blankly at the scene.
John shrugged. "See? Pretty dangerous."
"Jane!" Thor went over and helped her up.
John walked over to them, tapping on his phone as he composed a message about what had happened here and its connection to the Conjunction of the Spheres, then hit send.
"I need to get you treatment." Thor understood how dangerous this power was.
He could not stand by and do nothing.
He said earnestly to John, "John, I need your help."
Scorched marks began forming a pattern beneath their feet, and John understood what he meant.
He happened to be researching dimensional travel lately, so visiting Asgard to learn from it would be even better.
