John took out his wand and murmured softly.

New skin grew over her scorched, mottled hands, quickly restoring them to their former appearance.
She stared at her hands. Nothing that had happened seemed explainable by medicine.
"Are you a magician?" Martha looked at John, his face bringing a blush to her cheeks.
"A wizard, to be precise." John raised an eyebrow. "You must have seen the news."
"So you really do exist!" Of course Martha had seen the reports about the Children of Miracle and the emergence of wizards.
She smiled innocently. "So you're a champion of justice?"
"A champion of justice?" John gave an inscrutable smile.
He hardly qualified as righteous.
He had only spared this vampire because her earlier attempt to resist her bloodlust had earned his goodwill.
He wasn't righteous, but he had never been stingy about helping good people.
