Coulson stepped out of the office and gently closed the door behind him, relief spreading across his face.
As soon as he turned around, he saw Jasper Sitwell standing behind him. Remembering the list Yang Bo had mentioned, Coulson felt his heart tighten. Then he smiled and said, "Long time no see!"
Before the matter with Hydra had come up, Coulson and Sitwell had been on fairly good terms. In fact, they had even been partners for a while before becoming senior agents.
Sitwell smiled as well and nodded lightly. "It certainly has been a while, Coulson. I have some business with Director Fury. I'll get in touch when I have time!"
"Sure, no problem! I have an assignment myself, so I'll be off!"
With that, Coulson turned and left. Rather than knocking on the office door right away, Sitwell watched him walk away and contacted someone through his earpiece.
"Coulson has left. Find out what he's planning to do."
Then, his expression unchanged, he straightened his clothes and reached out to knock on the office door.
"Come in!"
Sitwell entered the office and gave Yang Bo an unobtrusive glance before walking straight to Fury's desk and setting down the documents in his hand.
"Sir, here are the documents you requested!"
Out of the corner of his eye, Fury caught the knowing half-smile on Yang Bo's face. He nodded at Sitwell. "Leave them here. Get back to work."
Sitwell turned and left without doing anything else. Fury's office was one of the few places Hydra couldn't monitor, and he had only come in to take a look.
