Yang Bo sat in a flashy car. He knew next to nothing about car brands. As far as he was concerned, any car that kept the rain off was a good car. He had never even owned one before transmigrating, so he had no idea what make this one was.
The car belonged to Leo, the Mexican guy who led the trio.
"He's starting to show symptoms. Is there any rope in the car? Tie him up first so he doesn't hurt anyone!"
From the front passenger seat, Yang Bo looked at Kerry, who lay half-reclined in the back. His eyes were tightly shut, beads of sweat covered his forehead, and his gray hoodie was already soaked through.
Leo quickly nodded. "There's a tow rope in the trunk. I'll get it!"
He opened the door and scrambled out, soon returning with a rope two fingers thick. Without waiting for Yang Bo's instructions, he immediately bound Kerry tightly.
After quite a bit of work, Leo finally breathed a sigh of relief. Just then, Gore returned from the shopping trip Yang Bo had sent him on. His two bags were stuffed with garlic, milk, and bread, and he also carried two ordinary iron buckets. Panting, he said, "I got everything, sir. Is this enough?"
"Yes, that's enough!"
Yang Bo reached out and picked up a bulb of garlic. With a thought, he quickly transformed it into the garlic from the vampire mod.
Seeing Yang Bo pick up the garlic, Leo hesitantly asked, "Sir, I know garlic can repel vampires, but can bread and milk do that too?"
He wasn't naive enough to ask about the five hundred dollars.
Yang Bo had already picked up the milk and begun pouring it into an iron bucket. At Leo's question, he answered without even looking up, "The bread's my dinner!"
Leo: "..."
For a moment, no one spoke. They simply watched him pour milk into the bucket. It didn't take long to fill it, and Yang Bo picked it up. Before the other two men's astonished eyes, the metal bucket underwent a miraculous change. It shrank from over thirty centimeters tall to around twenty, and its walls looked much thicker.
Even more remarkably, when Yang Bo pulled open the rear door with the bucket in hand, the pure white milk inside didn't slosh at all. It seemed almost solid.
The two exchanged a glance without saying anything. Vampires existed, after all, so a magical bucket of milk wasn't that hard to accept.
Holding the milk, Yang Bo pried open the young Black man's mouth. Two of his teeth had already grown unusually long.
"Good, there's still time!"
He poured the milk into Kerry's mouth. Now that it had a target to use it on, the previously motionless milk became liquid again and flowed straight into his mouth. The instant Kerry finished the bucket of milk, his trembling body went still.
The moment the vampire virus was cured, Kerry opened his eyes. He jumped at the sight of the three men staring at him, then suddenly remembered the agony he had just endured and ran his hands over his body.
"I'm all right now?"
He immediately turned to Yang Bo and said gratefully, "Thank you! Thank you!"
Seeing that Kerry was fine, Yang Bo smiled faintly and turned to take the bread out of the bag. He transformed it into Minecraft bread and started eating. Between bites, he said, "No need to thank me. I'm getting paid, too!"
Thinking of the five hundred dollars sitting in his inventory, Yang Bo's smile grew even brighter. After a pause, he continued, "Interested in doing a little work with me?"
Sitting in the car, Yang Bo rolled down the window and kept watching the pedestrians around them. There were noticeably fewer people on the streets now. It was very late.
A familiar scent reached him. His expression turned serious, and he sat up straight.
"That guy up ahead in the black shirt!"
At his words, everyone in the car immediately perked up and looked in the direction Yang Bo indicated. The man appeared to be in his thirties, wearing black trousers and a black shirt, with a gleaming gold watch on his wrist. He looked every inch a successful professional. Without Yang Bo's warning, none of the three would ever have believed he was a vampire-a monster that fed on human blood.
Leo was a little nervous, but the sight of Yang Bo's calm face settled him considerably. He opened the door and got out with Kerry. Following Yang Bo's earlier instructions, they walked straight toward the vampire.
Meanwhile, Yang Bo and Gore headed into a dark corner to wait for him.
Leo pulled a folding knife from his pocket, walked up, and pressed it against the vampire's waist. "Come with me if you don't want to die..."
???
The vampire was genuinely stunned. He had never imagined he would be robbed by his own food in the middle of the street. The humiliation instantly enraged him, but a few scattered pedestrians were still nearby, making it inconvenient to attack outright. He frowned and said, "All right, don't hurt me. I'll come with you!"
You damned bastard. I'll turn you into a blood thrall and make you suffer...
He was already planning how to torture Leo to wipe away the humiliation he felt.
Vampires had their own hierarchy, and he counted as a "successful professional" among them. Normally, he never needed to go out looking for food. He was only wandering the streets today because something had gone wrong with his car.
He had never expected to run into something like this.
The moment he stepped into the darkness, he could no longer contain his anger. He immediately began transforming, his eyes turning blood-red as he opened his mouth to reveal two sharp fangs.
"You damned bastards! I'll make you wish you were-"
Before he could finish, a stone axe rapidly filled his vision. With a thud, a single blow knocked him down. Seeing Yang Bo attack, the other three didn't stand idle. They drew the silver table knives they had prepared and plunged them into the vampire's body. The silver weapons clearly did more damage to him than Yang Bo's stone axe. The skin around each stab wound immediately turned black, as though it had died.
Yang Bo watched as the vampire's hundred health points dropped by half in the blink of an eye. He raised his stone axe again and chopped it into the vampire's mouth, abruptly cutting off his screams.
He pulled out a wooden stake and stabbed the vampire hard, using Minecraft's attack knockback to keep him from getting any chance to fight back.
"Hurry up and get to work!"
At his words, the three looked at the vampire Yang Bo had pinned against the wall, then hurried over to search him for loot.
Two minutes later, the four watched as the vampire silently burst into flames, crumbling into ash and vanishing where he lay.
"That's how it's done. Here's to working well together!"
Yang Bo smiled as he watched the vampire turn to ash.
