"The Aether?!"
Odin's voice echoed through the hall. Hermione's words seemed to have stunned him.
"Quick, take her to the healing room!"
Coming to his senses, Odin immediately gave the order.
Several Asgardian guards hurried forward and lifted Jane onto a high-tech device with a distinctly magical air. As it activated, beams of light swept over her body.
A moment later, a clear 3D image appeared in midair.
It was a mass of dark red energy, constantly churning and surging as it rampaged through Jane's body as though it were alive.
"It really is the Aether..."
Odin's expression darkened.
Of course he recognized it. It was the supreme treasure of the Dark Elves and the vessel of one of the most dangerous powers in the universe-the Reality Stone.
Thousands of years ago, Malekith, the leader of the Dark Elves, had tried to use the Aether's power to plunge the entire universe into eternal darkness.
Odin's father, Bor, had led Asgard's army into an earth-shaking battle against the Dark Elves.
In the end, Bor had defeated Malekith at a terrible cost and sealed the Aether in an unknown location in Svartalfheim.
Odin had never imagined that, thousands of years later, this power would resurface-and take up residence inside a mortal woman.
What shocked him even more was that Hermione had sensed the Aether's presence before he had.
Even he had barely managed to identify what was inside Jane after using both his divine power and specialized equipment.
Hermione, however, had accurately sensed the Aether with a single glance.
"This is trouble."
Once his surprise faded, Odin's brows knitted together, his tone grave. The Aether's reappearance was no small matter.
"Can't we remove it?"
Thor asked urgently, his eyes full of worry. Jane's safety was all he could think about; nothing else
