Just as Jane was about to be impaled, Loki lunged forward at the last possible moment and shoved her aside.
Schlick-
The sharp weapon pierced Loki's body.
"You..." Jane froze in shock.
Loki slowly collapsed, a faint smile of relief still on his face.
"Now... I don't owe Thor anything anymore... I never had a choice before... now I want to be a good man..."
As he spoke, he coughed up a torrent of blood. His head lolled to one side, and he fell silent.
"Loki..." Jane bit her lip.
She had never imagined that this former enemy would sacrifice himself to save her.
How was she supposed to explain this to Thor?
Whoosh-
A figure suddenly appeared. It was Hermione.
She waved her wand, and several spells flashed through the air. The Dark Elves surrounding them instantly fell to the ground.
"Hermione, you're back!"
As though she had found her savior, Jane ran toward Hermione, then glanced back at Loki lying on the ground. Conflicting emotions filled her eyes, and she struggled to speak.
"He... he saved me..."
Jane's voice choked up. Pointing at Loki's corpse, she briefly recounted what had just happened.
After hearing her out, Hermione made a show of sighing.
"Loki's sacrifice deserves half a day off work to mourn him, but the Celestial Convergence has already begun. Malekith is using the Aether to corrupt the other worlds."
"I'll send you back to Earth now, then keep pursuing Malekith."
Hermione opened a Portal.
"Goodbye."
Jane looked at Hermione, then at Loki, before finally stepping into the Portal.
She knew she couldn't help by staying here.
She would be better off going back to find Thor. Perhaps they could come up with something.
Once Jane disappeared through the Portal, "Loki's" corpse twitched on the ground, then flopped
