Since the Spellbook couldn't determine it, she would test the limits herself.
Hermione took a deep breath and made up her mind.
She picked up the brand-new Time-Turner and slowly began turning the knob on top.
One turn, two turns... The purple light inside the Time-Turner grew deeper, and immense temporal power surged within it.
Hermione kept turning, trying to find its limit.
When the knob reached a critical point and refused to move any farther, something suddenly went wrong!
The Time-Turner began shaking violently. The magical runes flowing across its surface fell into disarray, and deep purple light spilled uncontrollably outward.
Fine cracks spread rapidly over its surface like a spiderweb.
"Oh no!"
Hermione knew she was in trouble. The thing was clearly overloaded!
She didn't even have time to think. Almost instinctively, she cast "Protego" on herself.
Boom!
A muffled explosion rang out, and a savage shock wave of energy burst outward.
Hermione's Shield Charm held firm against the impact, but the scenery around her began spinning and blurring at breakneck speed...
This is bad. Get out!
Hermione instinctively activated the Spellbook, trying to escape Marvel altogether. But although she appeared at Hogwarts, the time travel didn't stop.
She had no idea how long the dizzying sensation lasted. It felt as though she had been stuffed into a washing machine on a high-speed spin cycle.
Thud!
She crashed heavily to the ground. Before she could even register the pain, a blinding green light shot straight at her, moving faster than she could have imagined!
Thwack!
The green light struck her squarely in the forehead!
A tremendous impact hit her. Hermione's vision went black, and she toppled backward, slamming into the ground with her head ringing.
"Ariana!"
"Gellert! You..."
"Who? Who is she? How did she suddenly appear here?"
