"Hathor?"
Mark softly murmured the name Khonshu had just shouted, a trace of confusion in his eyes.
The woman before him nodded slightly and introduced herself to everyone with grace:
"I am Yatzil, Hathor's avatar."
"Oh."
Mark did not know how to respond to this mysterious woman. His mind was full of questions.
Khonshu's anger just now had only made him more confused.
After all, he could only hear Khonshu's voice, not Hathor's.
Yatzil keenly sensed Mark's indifference and ventured softly:
"Hathor, the goddess of music and love?"
"Impressive."
Mark gave an offhand reply, his tone sounding somewhat distracted and perfunctory.
Yatzil frowned, clearly rather surprised by his response.
She immediately abandoned any intention of continuing the conversation with Mark and turned her expectant gaze toward the other two. "Khonshu must have mentioned her to you, right?"
Neuvillette and Cyno exchanged a glance, but before they could respond, Mark suddenly interrupted:
"You've got it wrong. Khonshu only has one avatar, and he's never been particularly fond of discussing the gods."
Disappointment flashed across Yatzil's face. "Even when they're old friends?"
"Sorry."
"Ah..."
Yatzil sighed softly. It seemed her goddess had not spoken again since earlier:
"But Hathor said that, not long ago, Khonshu was still very fond of her melodies."
Mark's expression grew awkward as he realized there seemed to be some sort of "ambiguous relationship" between Khonshu and this goddess of music and love.
"As far as I know, the only melody Khonshu likes is the wailing of people in pain."
Mark answered awkwardly.
"Yatzil!"
A man's voice came from the distance, interrupting their conversation.
Mark looked up. Standing before the seat directly beneath the pharaoh statue was a middle-aged man in a bespoke suit, the top of his head gleaming faintly in the candlelight.
Oh, he's bald!
