It was heartbreaking. No matter how desperately Lin Ze tried to persuade him to stay, Ceros had a heart of stone and refused to stay a few more days.
"You just want me to help you pull characters, don't you? The mission deadline isn't even here yet. Who knows how long I'd have to wait for you to finish it? I have missions of my own. If I stop working, are you going to support me?"
Ceros looked teasingly at the man clinging to his leg.
Damn it. He hit me right where it hurt.
Lin Ze reluctantly let go. Only after repeatedly making Ceros promise not to quit his liaison job did he finally feel comfortable letting him leave.
He couldn't help it. Lin Ze had been starved of five-stars for so long, and now a living good-luck charm had fallen into his lap. Of course he had to keep hold of Ceros.
Wait, was I a little too enthusiastic just now? I didn't scare him off, did I?
Lin Ze's thoughts ran wild the whole way.
"I didn't act that weird just now, did I?" he asked Bennett beside him as they walked.
Bennett scratched the back of his head. "Well, I get why you did it, but clinging to someone's leg in the middle of the street did make you look a little... perverted."
"Perverted?!" Lin Ze exclaimed in shock. "You were clinging to him too!"
"But didn't you tell me to?"
Bennett's eyes widened in surprise. "You're still the root cause."
"Hmm... fair point."
Lin Ze held his forehead. I'd better show a little more restraint next time.
A bustling shopping street ran beneath Stark Tower, and he and Bennett reached their destination after a short walk.
Just before entering, Lin Ze suddenly glanced back. Apart
