Miaomiao was fast. Even out of the water, the Merfolk's physical prowess let her movements slice through the air with a sharp whistle. No human could face that strike head-on.

For Superman, who had spent nearly thirty years basking in the light of the Yellow Sun and possessed super speed, the girl's swift, powerful movements looked like footage played in slow motion. He even had time to glance at Bruce's expression, debating whether to block the blow or simply let her hit him.
Neither option posed a problem for Clark, but would blocking the Little Girl's very first attack be a bit much? If he didn't block and let her little claws land on him... his skin was so hard. What if he cracked her nails?
He could see them clearly. Miaomiao's fingers were slender, fair, and delicate, each pointed nail painted in a beautiful blue-to-purple gradient with a pearly sheen. They were obviously carefully maintained. Lois rarely fussed over her nails because of her job, but whenever she got a manicure on a whim during a vacation and accidentally ruined it, she would feel down for quite a while.
Besides, fingertips were sensitive. If a nail split down into the flesh, how much would that hurt the Little Girl?
After weighing his options, Clark decided to dodge.
Despite all the thoughts that had run through Clark's head, all Miaomiao saw was him retreating a tiny step at incredible speed as she swiped, just far enough to evade her attack.
He was so fast I couldn't even react?!
Miaomiao's eyes filled with astonishment. She knew Clark possessed "super speed," but until she witnessed it herself, she hadn't fully understood what that meant.
But that didn't matter! She was fighting right now!
