After Tim and the others combed through every video and employed countless methods, their efforts naturally alerted Oracle, Barbara Gordon, who handled their intelligence analysis.
Watching Tim repeatedly search the footage from the shopping district during that time, Barbara guessed that something had gone wrong.
[Oracle: What's going on? Tim, what happened?]
[Red Robin: Barbara, Miaomiao is missing.]
[Oracle: What?! Someone broke into Wayne Manor?]
[Red Robin: No. Miaomiao went shopping downtown alone today. Toward evening, her location signal suddenly disappeared. I tracked down the camera footage from that time, but its signal had been jammed too. I couldn't see anything.]
After hearing that, Barbara immediately joined the search for information.
With two of Gotham's finest cyber-intelligence experts working together, they finally recovered the data from one camera after night had fully fallen. One clip had captured Miaomiao.
The video quality was poor, but they could still make out Miaomiao standing alone, looking at a Christmas tree in a shop window. A short man in an outlandish outfit walked straight toward her. They exchanged a few words, and the short man drew the girl's attention with something they couldn't identify. When she lowered her head, he placed an elaborately designed women's hat on her.
Then Miaomiao followed the short man into an alley with no surveillance cameras and never came back out.
[Oracle: It's the Mad Hatter! Jervis Tetch.]
[Red Robin: He's chosen Miaomiao as his new "Alice"!]
[Oracle: This is bad news. Did he hypnotize Little Fish?]
[Red Robin: That's what it looks like in the video, but I have my doubts. Miaomiao isn't an ordinary girl. She can instantly control Superman with her singing.]
Tim could never forget how, after Superman returned from Outer Space, Miaomiao had heard about his combat strength and asked to spar with him.
