Snowflakes fluttered through the air.
It was cold, white, and quiet, a beauty that had existed only in stories.
Watching the dancing snowflakes, Miaomiao forgot to cry for a moment, forgot the pearls she had just scattered across the floor. Her eyes went round, reflecting the snow-filled sky, shining as though an entire field of stars lay hidden inside them.

"Please stop. I was wrong, okay?" Dick begged for mercy. "Didn't you see how they glared at me just now? Say that one more time, and I seriously doubt they'll stop at glaring. They'll go straight to throwing punches!"

Miaomiao tilted her face up and reached out the window to catch some. An icy snowflake landed on her warm fingertip, instantly melting into a tiny, clear droplet.
Jason clicked his tongue, nudged Dick aside, and tucked the shawl Alfred had given her more snugly around her. "What are you staring at? If you want to see it, go outside. Bundle up first. Don't freeze."
Bruce and the others stood behind Miaomiao, their gazes resting on her profile, softened by the reflected light of the snow.
Though Gotham was cold and rainy year-round, snow on Christmas was rare. This was Gotham's first Christmas snowfall in years.
