Seraphina froze for a moment. Once she recovered, a blush instantly spread across her cheeks.
"I don't care how valuable it is. I'm a daughter of the Saint Dumas Family. What fine things haven't I seen... It's just a crude, shabby bracelet..."
Miaomiao tilted her head, puzzled.
Had her Perception been wrong? Wasn't Seraphina envious because she had given Lia a bracelet?
Oh well, human thoughts were so complicated.
"Then I must have misunderstood." Miaomiao reached for the bracelet. "Sorry. If you don't want it..."

For the sake of the Saint Dumas Family's reputation, I suppose I'll reluctantly accept it."
With that, Seraphina tucked the bracelet into her bag and even zipped it shut, as though she feared Miaomiao really would take it back.
Miaomiao blinked slowly, nodded, and returned to her seat.
"Miaomiao!"
Lia rushed over and grabbed her hand, her eyes practically shining.
"You went to give Dumas a bracelet? You're so brave! Did she accept it?"
"I guess so..." Miaomiao answered uncertainly. "She said a few things I didn't really understand. But she put the bracelet in her schoolbag."
And the sour envy she sensed through her Perception had clearly faded, replaced by a hint of secret delight. Yet judging by Seraphina's expression, it seemed Miaomiao had sensed wrong and there was nothing there at all.
*Was Seraphina like everyone at Wayne Manor, too, with an expression that
