Jason had come out to scout a shipment belonging to Black Mask.
Black Mask had kept the shipment tightly under wraps, and Jason had only picked up a few scraps of information. He had no idea what it actually contained, but anything Black Mask valued this highly had to be worth a fortune.
Black Mask had made his fortune in weapons and illegal drugs before branching out into darker things, such as biochemical weapons and augmented soldiers. This shipment was probably more of the same.
Jason sped through the streets with Miaomiao, then stopped a little way from Gotham Harbor and got off early.
He pressed something on his wrist twice, and the motorcycle obediently drove into the shadows and tucked itself out of sight.
"Whoa."
This was Miaomiao's first close-up look at the high-tech equipment used by Gotham's superheroes and supervillains, and her eyes went wide with surprise. This wasn't a dolphin or an orca, intelligent enough to understand instructions. It was just a hunk of metal! Even a hunk of metal could be this well-behaved?!
Seeing her stunned expression, Jason couldn't resist giving her head a light tap. "Snap out of it, Little Fish Cub. Keep your face covered. Don't let anyone see it."
"Mm-hmm."
Miaomiao readily agreed. After all, to conceal his identity, Jason even wore a domino mask beneath his Red Hood helmet.
Under one mask was another mask.
If an opponent finally managed to knock off Jason's helmet during a fight and gleefully prepared to announce that they'd discovered Red Hood's true identity, only to look up-
