Ririko had already worked out an answer to that question.
She turned her head, her tone slightly indifferent, yet tinged with displeasure:
"Bruce suddenly decided to study abroad and wanted me to come with him. But I felt... that wasn't really for me, so I came back."
Harvey frowned slightly. Leaving without saying goodbye didn't seem like Bruce's style.
But then he reconsidered. If Bruce and Ririko had argued and broken up, that wasn't exactly something Bruce could tell everyone. Going abroad for a while to clear his head would make perfect sense.
After all, everyone in high society said Bruce was a playboy who did whatever he pleased...
Even though Harvey had known him for so long, perhaps Bruce really did have a side he had never seen.
Ririko glanced at Harvey out of the corner of her eye. His infatuation value had risen from 13 to 15, which meant even someone as smart as him had accepted her story.
As long as she led everyone to believe Bruce had left home because he had broken up with her, she could save herself a lot of trouble.
After all, who would believe Bruce had come back from the dead, then decided to seek out a master and train with the League of Shadows?
That story was so absurd not even a dog would believe it.
While the car waited at a red light, Harvey swallowed and asked the question he wanted answered even more:
"Then... now that you're back, what are your plans?"
As though she had expected him to ask, Ririko said hesitantly:
"Find somewhere to stay first, I guess..."
She didn't know when Bruce would return, either. To make her story more convincing, she would have to leave Wayne Manor for a while.
Once Bruce came back,
