Dick wore a floral shirt, radiating a sea-soaked ease from head to toe.

He ran toward the two of them, throwing his arms wide with exaggerated enthusiasm and flashing teeth far whiter than his skin:

"You're finally here! It's so boring here..."

Bruce looked him up and down. "Weren't you having a great time working at the resort? Last time you posted in the group chat, you were talking about seeing a different-colored sunset every day."

Dick led them out of the terminal:

"Even sunsets get boring after a while. We're already at the tail end of peak season, and there are fewer guests every day. In another two weeks, the sea breeze will turn cold, and the hotel will close until next spring."

Ririko and Bruce climbed into a compact sightseeing cart with "Wayne Resort" printed on its side and a fabric sunshade stretched overhead.

Dick hopped into the driver's seat and deftly turned the key. The engine rumbled steadily to life.

The cart traveled slowly along a coastal lane, with a beach and an endless expanse of blue sea on the left, and lush greenery dotted with colorful homes on the right.

Ririko gazed at the chain of dark peaks in the distance.

She pointed in their direction. "Those volcanoes look pretty interesting."

Dick held the wheel with one hand, playing the part of a capable local guide:

"They're extinct volcanoes. They haven't erupted in centuries. The hotel has geothermal hot springs you can try later. Your skin will be as smooth as a dolphin's afterward."

Sitting beside Ririko, Bruce explained:

"Most visitors come here to recuperate. There aren't many, but we have a steady number of regulars who return every year, enough to keep the hotel running."

Ririko narrowed her eyes as she surveyed the distant scenery.
