Never before had the gold dragons of King's Landing flowed so willingly from the purses of noble lords into a single place.
Lynn's residence had become a sacred destination for every woman in King's Landing.
At that moment, Lynn, Sansa, and the others were seated around the long table in the backyard.
"The Winter Rose series sold eighty boxes last week, earning a profit of four thousand gold dragons."
Sansa read the figures from the ledger, her pretty face flushed with excitement.
The reserve and unease she had brought with her to King's Landing had vanished completely, replaced by the confidence of someone firmly in command.
Her voice was clear and her thoughts well organized. She carried herself like the mistress of a merchant guild.
"The formula for Night of Starfall needs adjusting. The jasmine essential oil is too faint to balance the heavy scent of agarwood."
"Also, we should launch a men's line."
Sansa set down the ledger and looked at Lynn.
Intelligence sparkled in her blue eyes.
"The men of King's Landing need to look respectable too."
"They might not pay for floral fragrances, but what about a scent that symbolizes strength and status?"
Lynn watched her with a smile. He said nothing, merely motioning with his eyes for her to continue.
"For instance, we could use pinewood from the North, mixed with the scents of leather and strong liquor. We could call it 'Wolf's Blood.'"
"Sea salt from the Stormlands, mixed with the scent of earth after rain-we could call that 'Stag's Horns.'"
"We could even grind volcanic rock from Dragonstone into powder and add it to the soap. We'd call it 'Dragon's Breath'!"
Arya and Myrcella listened in bewilderment.
They could not understand how those strange-sounding smells had anything to do with fragrance.
But Lynn nodded.
