Winter flew at an absurd speed.
The vast outline of King's Landing soon vanished over the southern horizon.
The dragon pierced the clouds, racing toward the North.
Liana and Margaery clung desperately to Lynn, burying their faces in his back, not daring to look down.
Brienne and Cersei gripped the scales on the dragon's back, their bodies as rigid as stone.
Brienne, especially, felt as though her heart was about to leap out of her throat.
This thing flew far too fast!
After an unknown stretch of time, Lynn's voice rang out above their heads.
"We're here."
The women cautiously opened their eyes.
An enormous, ancient gray castle appeared before them.
Winterfell.
Winter let out a low growl and slowly descended, finally landing smoothly in the castle's largest courtyard.
Boom!
As the dragon touched down, all of Winterfell shook.
Ned Stark stood waiting in the courtyard with his wife, Catelyn, and several northern vassals.
Lynn leaped down from the dragon's back.
"Lord Ned."
Ned looked at Lynn, then at the dragon snorting behind him, and the corner of his mouth twitched.
This fellow always made such an outrageous entrance.
Ned nodded to him in greeting.
Then his gaze settled on the women climbing down from the dragon's back.
Sansa, his eldest daughter.
Liana-wasn't she Joffrey's queen? Why was she with Lynn?
He knew those two.
But the others...
Margaery?
The cherished daughter of House Tyrell, the most delicate Little Rose in the Seven Kingdoms...
Who was that absurdly tall woman who looked even more powerfully built than he was?
She stood two heads taller than him...
And that woman in red robes, with an air of mystery about her...
Ned could barely process it all.
Hadn't Lynn gone to King's Landing to serve as Hand of the King?
*Why did
