Ch. 451Tyrion's Parentage

Jaime went to kill Tywin before the Lannister patriarch could be publicly humiliated, but Tywin revealed that Tyrion was Aerys's bastard and confessed his regrets. Tyrion forgave Tywin, then took Jaime's sword and prepared to execute his father as a threat to Lynn's new order.

  • Jaime entered Tywin's study intending to kill him, and Tywin revealed that Tyrion was the Mad King Aerys's bastard.
  • Tywin admitted that he had mistreated Jaime, Cersei, and Tyrion, and asked Jaime to give him a dignified death.
  • Tyrion emerged from the shadows, told Tywin he forgave him, and sent Jaime away.
  • Tyrion explained that Tywin had to die because he embodied the old order and could inspire the Westerlands to resist Lynn's new one.
  • Tywin accepted Tyrion's judgment, and Tyrion raised his sword to collect the last debt of the old era.

Ch. 452Affairs in the Westerlands settled

Tyrion killed Tywin and forced the Westerlands’ nobles to swear allegiance to Lynn and Myrcella, while Lynn confronted Stannis near Harrenhal over the Lord of Light and Melisandre. Just as their armies were about to clash, Davos arrived with an urgent interruption.

  • Tyrion killed Tywin, then announced that Myrcella would become Warden of the West with Tyrion governing beside her under Lynn’s authority.
  • Tyrion forced the gathered nobles to kneel and swear allegiance, then had Tormund kill Earl Farman when he refused.
  • Lynn arrived at Harrenhal and learned from Bronze Yohn that Stannis’s army numbered more than sixty thousand and followed the Lord of Light.
  • Lynn and Stannis met between their armies, where Stannis demanded Lynn’s surrender and a knight demonstrated a flaming sword.
  • Lynn revealed that he had captured Melisandre and denounced Stannis as a false prophesied prince and servant of the Long Night.
  • As Stannis’s knights drew their flaming swords, Davos Seaworth rode between the armies and called out to Stannis.

Ch. 453Poaching his man right in front of Stannis

Davos Seaworth tried to broker peace between Lynn and Stannis, but both rejected his proposal. As Stannis prepared to execute Davos, Lynn offered him a place in his service and revealed that Davos’s family had already been brought to Harrenhal, leaving Davos to decide whether to join him.

  • Davos proposed that the North become independent while swearing fealty to Stannis, but Stannis and Lynn both refused.
  • Lynn argued that the Iron Islands, Westerlands, Riverlands, and Vale also deserved independence, provoking Stannis by questioning what would remain of his kingdom.
  • Stannis denounced Davos as a traitor, drew a flaming sword, and ordered him to submit to judgment, so Davos began walking toward him.
  • Lynn stopped Davos, praised his honesty and concern for ordinary people, and urged him not to die for Stannis.
  • Lynn invited Davos to serve him and promised to respect his counsel, appoint him to office, and grant him lands and possibly castles in the Stormlands.
  • Lynn quietly told Davos that his family had been brought from Dragonstone to Harrenhal, where they were waiting for him.

Ch. 454This is a dragon

Davos abandoned Stannis and stood with Lynn as Stannis ordered Loras Tyrell and the Reach knights to attack Winter. Winter devastated the Tyrell forces with black dragonfire, and Loras surrendered to Lynn to stop the slaughter.

  • Davos walked away from Stannis and joined Lynn, prompting Stannis to order his soldiers to kill him.
  • Stannis forced Loras Tyrell to lead the Reach knights in a charge against Winter, threatening House Tyrell if they refused.
  • Lynn snapped his fingers, and Winter's roar panicked the horses and broke the knights' charge.
  • Winter burned a huge portion of the Reach forces with black dragonfire, then attacked the scattered survivors again.
  • Loras threw down his sword, begged Lynn to spare his men, and surrendered House Tyrell and Highgarden.
  • Winter returned to Harrenhal as Lynn remarked that Loras should have surrendered sooner.

Ch. 455Turning against him

Stannis Baratheon executed Loras Tyrell after Loras urged him to surrender to Lynn, driving the Reach’s forces to turn against Stannis. The Reach army charged Stannis’s troops, leaving him stunned as the battle erupted between former allies.

  • Loras Tyrell pleaded with Stannis Baratheon to spare lives and surrender, but Stannis accused him of treason.
  • The Red Priestess urged Stannis to burn Loras, and Stannis killed him with Lightbringer.
  • Davos Seaworth realized Stannis had made an enemy of the Reach, whose soldiers erupted in grief and fury.
  • The Reach’s forces turned their banners toward Stannis and charged his army to avenge Loras.
  • Stannis cried out that his soldiers had betrayed him as the two armies collided.

Ch. 456The Source of Stannis's Confidence

Stannis's army overwhelmed the Reach forces with the Red Priestess's holy fire, leaving Stannis convinced that the Lord of Light had affirmed his claim. When Stannis challenged Lynn at Harrenhal, Lynn ordered Winter to unleash a devastating beam upon Stannis's army.

  • The Red Priestess empowered Stannis's soldiers, whose flame-wreathed weapons and armor broke the Reach charge and drove its soldiers into a rout.
  • Lynn watched the slaughter and recognized that the Red Comet had made the Lord of Light's magic far stronger than before.
  • Stannis celebrated his victory, raised Lightbringer toward Harrenhal, and called on Lynn to face him next.
  • Lynn told Davos that Stannis had gone mad, then commanded Winter to show him true divine might.
  • Winter gathered three colors of light in its heads and fired a massive beam at Stannis's army, dimming Lightbringer's flames.

Ch. 457Flame Prophecy

Lynn annihilated Stannis’s Holy Fire Knights but stopped short of killing Stannis after a Flame Prophecy showed him sacrificing Shireen to awaken stone dragons on Dragonstone. He let Stannis flee, intending to see what the king would do and believing he could claim the dragons himself.

  • Winter’s blast vaporized Stannis’s Holy Fire Knights, leaving a vast crater and Stannis alive but shattered.
  • Lynn prepared to kill Stannis, but the Flame Prophecy showed Stannis burning Shireen at an altar to awaken stone dragons on Dragonstone.
  • Lynn lowered his ice spear and let Stannis’s knights and the Red Priestess lead him in a retreat toward Dragonstone.
  • Davos asked why Lynn had spared Stannis, and Lynn said he wanted to see how far the king would descend into madness.
  • Lynn decided the awakened stone dragons could become his, since he possessed Euron Greyjoy’s treasure and could use it to control them.

Ch. 458House Tyrell yielded

After Lynn defeated Stannis and killed Loras Tyrell, Margaery and the Tyrells came to Harrenhal, where Lynn offered to resurrect Loras in exchange for the Reach’s allegiance and Margaery’s appointment as its Protector. Olenna accepted his terms, leaving House Tyrell’s independence and power in Lynn’s hands.

  • Lynn ordered Loras Tyrell’s body preserved in ice after defeating Stannis and winning the Reach’s allegiance.
  • Margaery received news of Loras’s death at Winterfell, fainted, and then insisted on traveling to Harrenhal.
  • Olenna Redwyne arrived at Harrenhal with Mace Tyrell and Reach vassals to reclaim Loras’s body, and Lynn said he could bring Loras back to life.
  • Lynn demanded that House Tyrell swear allegiance to him and the North, with Margaery as Protector of the Reach and Mace given a lesser position.
  • Olenna accepted Lynn’s terms in exchange for the possibility of Loras’s resurrection.

Ch. 459The Unsullied arrive at Blackwater Bay

Lynn resurrected Loras Tyrell, securing House Tyrell’s loyalty and naming Margaery Lady of Highgarden. A scout then reported that the Unsullied Legion had reached Blackwater Bay, where its ranks assembled as they awaited orders.

  • Lynn used Flame Resurrection to heal Loras Tyrell and restore his heartbeat, and Loras awoke alive.
  • Olenna Redwyne and Mace Tyrell swore House Tyrell and the Reach’s vassals to Lynn, while Loras pledged himself as Lynn’s sword.
  • Lynn appointed Margaery Tyrell Lady of Highgarden and Protector of the Reach, and the Reach’s nobles accepted her authority.
  • A scout reported that the Unsullied Legion had reached Blackwater Bay and that King's Landing was in chaos.
  • The Unsullied disembarked from their longships and formed ranks on the tidal flats.

Ch. 460Taking King's Landing

Grey Worm led the Unsullied in capturing King's Landing for Lynn, defeating its defenders and distributing food to civilians. As the people welcomed Lynn's rule, Grey Worm learned that the last Baratheon defenders in the Red Keep still refused to surrender.

  • Grey Worm ordered more than ten thousand Unsullied to advance on King's Landing.
  • The Unsullied broke through the Mud Gate and routed the defenders, taking strategic positions while avoiding harm to civilians.
  • A messenger announced that King's Landing was under Lynn's rule and that residents could receive three days of food by showing proof of identity.
  • The Unsullied distributed bread and smoked meat as grateful civilians cheered for Lynn, the King in the North.
  • A messenger told Grey Worm that the remaining Baratheon defenders in the Red Keep refused to surrender, and Grey Worm ordered them killed.

Ch. 461Stannis's madness

After losing King's Landing, Stannis was told that sacrificing Shireen could awaken Dragonstone's stone dragons and win him the throne. He ordered her burned despite his anguish, and as she died, the volcano rumbled and a stone dragon's eye began to glow.

  • Stannis returned to Dragonstone after his defeat, and the Red Priestess claimed the Lord of Light had revealed that victory lay beneath the island.
  • The Red Priestess showed Stannis a vision of stone dragons defeating Lynn and Winter, then said that awakening them required king's blood.
  • Stannis rejected the demand to sacrifice Shireen and threatened the Red Priestess, but nightmares and his ambitions tormented him.
  • Stannis visited Shireen at night, embraced her, and wept as she comforted him.
  • The next day, Stannis allowed the Red Priestess and her knights to bind Shireen to a pyre and burn her alive.
  • As Shireen screamed in the flames, Dragonstone shook, Dragonmont erupted with smoke, and a stone dragon's eye lit with scarlet light.

Ch. 462A bold conjecture!

Lynn realized that Shireen’s sacrifice had sent king’s blood to hidden gods, leading him to suspect they were harvesting Westeros’s royal bloodlines and forcing him to change his plans. As the stone dragons awakened on Dragonstone, Lynn ordered his allies to stabilize the Reach and prepare for further moves.

  • Lynn used Greensight to witness Stannis sacrificing Shireen on Dragonstone and saw the energy from her death flow into him and a presence beneath the island.
  • Lynn concluded that the gods were harvesting royal bloodlines through wars and sacrifices, and decided he must keep potential kings alive and under control.
  • Lynn ordered Olenna to settle the Reach with Margaery, sent Loras to prepare an army at Highgarden, and tasked Davos with stabilizing King's Landing and contacting the Iron Bank.
  • Margaery told Lynn she believed in him rather than the gods, and Lynn resolved to protect her from becoming a sacrifice.
  • As Shireen died, Dragonmont erupted and three dragons made of obsidian and lava emerged from the crater.

Ch. 463Dragonbinder, the Unstoppable Horn

Lynn used Dragonbinder to turn two of Stannis’s stone dragons against the third, shifting the battle at Harrenhal in Winter’s favor. Stannis’s mount was left under a combined assault, while Lynn watched the stone dragons become weapons he could command.

  • Stannis rode three obsidian stone dragons from Dragonstone to attack Lynn’s wight army outside Harrenhal, destroying thousands of wights with lava and claws.
  • Lynn sent Winter to fight the stone dragons, but the three-on-one battle left Winter wounded and struggling.
  • Lynn brought out Dragonbinder and sacrificed one blood warlock, briefly disrupting Stannis’s control of his mount.
  • Lynn sacrificed the second blood warlock and sounded Dragonbinder again, taking control of the two smaller stone dragons.
  • The two stone dragons turned on Stannis’s mount and joined Winter, whose combined attacks cracked the mount’s obsidian body.

Ch. 464Stannis was defeated

Lynn defeated Stannis when the stone dragon carrying him was destroyed, then stopped him from taking his own life. He ordered Stannis imprisoned and the two remaining stone dragons secured, determined to keep the last Baratheon royal alive and out of the hands of the gods.

  • Winter and the two stone dragons overwhelmed Stannis's mount, which shattered and sent him crashing to the ground outside Harrenhal.
  • After the Lord of Light fell silent, Stannis regained his reason and remembered murdering Renly, his wife, and Shireen for power.
  • Stannis tried to kill himself with a shard of obsidian, but Lynn knocked it away and ordered Loras to bind him.
  • Lynn explained that Stannis had to stay alive because he was the last of House Baratheon's royal blood and might otherwise be harvested by the gods.
  • Lynn gave Dragonbinder to Davos and ordered him to secure the two stone dragons.
  • Lynn ordered Stannis placed in the dungeon, fed enough to survive, and kept from both abuse and death.

Ch. 465Shireen became a dragon

Lynn used Flame Resurrection to restore Shireen’s soul and transform the stone dragon into a living ice-blue dragon. After reuniting with his daughter, Stannis renounced his claim to the Seven Kingdoms and recognized Lynn as Westeros’s lawful ruler.

  • Lynn entered the stone dragon’s soul to find Shireen, resisted the Lord of Light’s attack, and used Flame Resurrection to reshape her into a living dragon.
  • Shireen awoke with her memories and consciousness restored as the Lord of Light’s imprint was erased.
  • Lynn brought Stannis to see Shireen, and she recognized him as her father and showed him affection.
  • Stannis embraced Shireen, then knelt before Lynn, renounced his claim to the throne, and declared Lynn the only lawful ruler of Westeros.

Ch. 466Stannis relinquished the throne

After Stannis formally surrendered his claim, Lynn received the lords’ allegiance and ordered Stannis exiled to the Wall. Shireen worried that she could no longer live as a human, and Lynn promised to seek a way to restore her body.

  • Stannis sent letters across Westeros renouncing the Iron Throne and urging his supporters to submit to Lynn, while lords and envoys gathered at Harrenhal to swear loyalty.
  • Lynn set his coronation for a month later and ordered Davos to bring Stannis from the dungeon.
  • Lynn exiled Stannis to the Wall, allowing him to take Shireen if she wished to go, and Stannis accepted the decision.
  • Shireen asked Lynn whether she could become human again and explained that she missed talking and reading with her father.
  • Lynn promised Shireen he would seek a way to restore her human body when his magic had advanced further.

Ch. 467Theon arrives in Braavos

Stannis and Davos parted on the docks as Stannis prepared to sail for Eastwatch-by-the-Sea. In Braavos, Theon reached the black door and delivered Lynn’s token to a mysterious man who could speak with death.

  • Stannis accepted warm clothes and provisions from Davos before leaving for Eastwatch-by-the-Sea.
  • Stannis apologized to Davos for taking his fingers, and the two old friends embraced.
  • Davos said he would join Stannis at the Wall after Lynn finished his campaign in Essos.
  • Theon arrived at a black door in Braavos with an Unsullied guard and knocked while holding a gold coin bearing the Three-Headed Great Dragon.
  • A mysterious man received Theon in a stone chamber, accepted the token, and put it away.

Ch. 468Theon Stays

Theon sought to become a Faceless Man, but Jaqen warned him that the order was divided over whether Lynn threatened the world. Theon chose to stay, entering the temple’s dark passage to begin the process of becoming no one.

  • Theon asked Jaqen to make him a Faceless Man so he could forget his past, and Jaqen said he would have to forget Lynn.
  • Jaqen explained that many Faceless Men viewed Lynn’s dragon, magic, and growing empire as a threat like ancient Valyria, while others favored honoring the pact and serving him.
  • Jaqen gave Theon the choice to leave and tell Lynn what he had learned or stay and forget his king and his name.
  • Theon decided that Lynn had sent him to infiltrate the Faceless Men and chose to stay.
  • Jaqen declared that Theon was no longer Theon Greyjoy and led him toward a spring whose water was meant to wash away his memories.

Ch. 469Joffrey's miserable fate

Theon Greyjoy began training among the Faceless Men and discovered a dragon egg and a Blood Magic scroll that he planned to steal for Lynn. In King's Landing, Lynn used Joffrey's blood to hatch a golden dragon, leaving Joffrey to realize he was being kept alive like livestock.

  • Theon drank from the House of Black and White's pool, accepted that he had no name, and began quietly serving the Faceless Men.
  • Theon overheard Faceless Men discuss killing Lynn because his power threatened the balance of the world.
  • Theon found a black-and-red dragon egg and a human-skin scroll containing a Blood Magic legacy, then secretly resolved to get them to Lynn.
  • Lynn had Joffrey's blood drawn and poured it over a milky-white dragon egg, which hatched into a golden dragon that bonded with him.
  • Joffrey woke to a bowl of chicken soup and realized Lynn was fattening him up so he could keep drawing his blood.

Ch. 470The new king ascends the throne (The end)

Lynn was crowned king of Westeros and appointed Sansa, Arya, Margaery, and Daenerys to rule its regions. After Theon returned with a dragon egg and a Blood Magic scroll, Lynn learned that the Long Night was still coming and turned his attention to the threat ahead.

  • Lynn was crowned King of the Andals, the Rhoynar, and the First Men as dragons circled above the Red Keep.
  • Lynn named Sansa and Arya Wardens of the North, Margaery Warden of the South and Lord of Highgarden, and Daenerys Queen of Dragonstone and Warden of the East.
  • Lynn studied ancient texts about the Long Night and learned from Theon that some Faceless Men wanted him dead.
  • Theon gave Lynn a black dragon egg and a forbidden Blood Magic scroll before disappearing into the night.
  • Lynn saw an ominous blue star and declared that the game was over as the Long Night approached.
