Closing Thoughts

I finished it, and I felt a little relieved. Thank you to all the readers who supported me.

By webnovel standards, this book was undoubtedly a failure.

Why?

Because it was dull. Or rather, a lot of the transitional scenes weren't interesting, and the whole book was development and war, with almost nothing else.

There was no interpersonal conflict, no spicy stuff, and barely even any familiar tropes. How could that be entertaining?

Even I would call it boring. Add in the typos, awkward sentences, all the interruptions in updates along the way, and the pathetic update schedule at the end-how could it possibly turn out well?

Many of you who stuck with it to the end probably did so entirely out of your love for The Lord of the Rings and Mount & Blade.

That was my fault. I wasn't skilled enough to write an interesting story, and that's something I need to improve.

Still.

If you looked at it as the work of someone who had never tried writing before and simply got the urge after watching The Hobbit trilogy...

I thought this book was probably just about passable.

At least I wrote what I wanted to write. It wasn't all that interesting, and the logic wasn't great, but at the very least, it stayed fairly close to the original.

I put almost everything I understood about Middle-earth, all my theories, and everything I knew into this book. It was scattered, but I more or less got it all down.

At the very least, I changed Thorin's fate in this book. Of course, he didn't make it to the very end and went to the Halls of Mandos early, but he could still reunite with his friends in Valinor.

Why did he die so young?
