Seeing this, Danyla quickly urged the Great Dragons to climb high into the sky. But the monster was swift as well, springing toward Dreamfyre and the others as though launched by a spring. The portion of his body above the sea alone was forty or fifty meters long.
Dreamfyre and the others were already several hundred meters in the air, however. Enormous as he was, he could not reach them.
"Dragonfire!"
Danyla ordered the Great Dragons to breathe dragonfire while chanting spells to bolster Dreamfyre and the others with magical energy.
Although she had yet to make out what he was, killing a monster of that size could hardly be a mistake. He lived in waters so close to Humans that he could cause a terrible disaster if he ever went berserk. She therefore attacked without hesitation.
But the monster was clearly no easy prey. He manipulated the waves and used their force to launch himself into the air, soaring several hundred meters in a single leap. His hideous maw snapped wildly at Dreamfyre.
Now Danyla could see what he looked like. He was a sea dragon! His head was almost as large as Dreamfyre's.
But the sky was the Great Dragons' domain, and Dreamfyre dodged his attack with ease.
Danyla could now see his entire enormous body, nearly a hundred meters long.
"A sea dragon?!"
Danyla immediately recognized what he was. After all, she had excavated a sea dragon's skeleton beneath the Hightower. To think sea dragons had not gone extinct either...
Although this sea dragon was much smaller than those of legend, his nearly hundred-meter length still made him a behemoth. Hard blue-black scales covered his body, and that cluster of crimson trees was clearly the great horns atop his head.
