Power Progression
Dreamfyre’s development is documented through physical growth, changes in dragonfire, and an increasingly precise bond with Danyla rather than named power realms. Later transformations also involve changes to her bloodline, claws, defensive scales, and heart 201 540 561.
| Stage / Realm / Level | Chapter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Bonded dragon; over 50 meters long | 1 | Danyla claimed her at seven years old. Her growth had slowed during prolonged confinement in the Dragonpit. |
| Renewed growth; approximately 70 meters long | 1 6 | Years of careful feeding and training restored rapid growth. Her formerly pale-blue scales became deep blue. |
| Clearer dream-realm mental link | 4 | Shared emotions and received thought commands during Danyla’s dragon dream. Her dream-form breathed unusually hot blue-black fire. |
| Blue dragonfire demonstrated in battle | 15 | Used deep-blue flames against Cannibal, contrasting with the orange-red waking fire described earlier. |
| Improved speed and endurance | 24 | Outflew Cannibal and had enough stamina to circle him while keeping him away from people and young dragons. |
| Magically enriched dragonfire | 41 | Her fire produced dragonstone superior to that made with Syrax’s or Vhagar’s fire; Danyla attributed the difference to the volcanic gemstones’ magical energy. |
| Spell-amplified fire and precise thought exchange | 46 | Danyla’s High Valyrian chant produced searing blue-violet fire and enabled an exceptionally clear exchange of thoughts. Dreamfyre’s comprehension appeared comparable to an adult human’s. |
| Blood-mediated weirwood connection | 58 | Established a connection with the weirwood through her blood and the chanting of Danyla and two Children of the Forest. |
| Shared consciousness in dragon dreams | 60 | Danyla could see through her eyes and control her body naturally while Dreamfyre remained awake and aware. The experience revealed her night vision and ability to see magical energy. |
| Speed comparable to Meleys | 86 | Her speed was stated to be no less than the Red Queen’s, alongside major improvements in size and dragonfire. |
| Exceptional acceleration and trained combat instincts | 108 | Three years of training placed her combat skills and instincts among the best of the living great dragons. Her sudden acceleration nearly unseated Danyla. |
| Sacrificial vitality and increased magical power | 119 122 | Received vitality transformed by the weirwood from cold underground energy, then absorbed energy released by slain rioters. Danyla sensed substantial magical gains in Dreamfyre and Myracis after the slaughter and feeding. |
| Merging fire and ice-wight energies | 184 | Her fire energy and ice-wight energies merged during a flight carrying House Umber’s party to Winterfell. |
| Spell-enhanced strength and speed | 193 | Danyla’s battle chants increased her strength and speed enough to haul the Sea Dragon toward a cliff and pin him there. |
| Physical transformation; 80 meters long | 201 | Became lean and muscular, with larger claws and crest, longer barbs, and newly replaced, sharper teeth. The digits on the leading edges of her wings increased to three. |
| More than doubled flight speed and enhanced endurance | 206 241 | After her transformation, flew from King’s Landing to Dragonstone in just over half an hour. Absorbing some of the Heart of Winter’s energy greatly strengthened her scales, fire, speed, and stamina; she could fly all night without visible fatigue. |
| Improved bloodline and leading combat strength | 267 302 | Ranked third in size by Chapter 267. The later reference described her as a three-clawed dragon, 80 meters long with a 180-meter wingspan, whose fighting strength surpassed Cannibal’s and Vermithor’s. |
| Standing takeoff | 319 | Could launch directly into the air with a wingbeat rather than requiring a running start. |
| Meteorite-energy absorption | 340 | Dug up and melted a massive meteorite containing a powerful Metal Core; she and Danyla absorbed its magical energy. |
| Prolonged slumber and continued growth | 366 499 | Entered a healthy, calm sleep that Danyla suspected was a transformation after consuming dragon flesh and blood. By Chapter 499, she was nearly 100 meters long and continued growing slowly through Oldtown’s underground energy and nearby weirwood magic. |
| Awakened five-toed great dragon; over 130 meters long | 540 | Emerged from slumber as House Targaryen’s largest great dragon. Her elevated bloodline maintained firm, powerful muscles without the signs of aging seen in Vhagar and Vermithor. |
| Over 150 meters long; cloud-burning dragonfire | 551 | Developed thicker, more tightly packed scales. Her blue-black fire began displaying the power to “Burn the Heavens and Boil the Seas” and could burn away thick clouds. |
| Blood-sacrifice empowerment and heart mutation | 561 | Her dragonfire already reached four to five thousand degrees before the Blood Sacrifice Spells multiplied its power. Sacrificial energy increased her magic, and dense dark-purple patterns formed across her heart, giving her the sensation that she might transcend her lifespan’s limits. |
| Deep-Sea Behemoth kill and crystal consumption | 588 589 | Burned a Deep-Sea Behemoth’s head, bit off and swallowed its dark-blue crystal, and finished the creature during the ultimate battle. |
Background / History
Dreamfyre was previously ridden by Danyla’s grandmother, Rhaena Targaryen, and is older than Vermithor. She is also the mother of Meleys, the Red Queen, and Quicksilver, the Blood Wyrm 1 22.
Danyla removed Dreamfyre from the Dragonpit in King’s Landing and brought her to Dragonstone. Freedom from confinement, extensive feeding, and regular training accompanied her renewed development. Danyla initially connected these changes to her dragon dreams, but later considered mineral consumption another possible cause 1 4 29.
Her imprisonment remained a powerful influence on her behavior. Returning to the Dragonpit’s bronze gates made her agitated, and Danyla promised that no one would lock her inside again. Seeing Amoros freed from confinement reminded Dreamfyre of her own rescue. Having known the outside world before her imprisonment, she regarded her years in the Dragonpit as the darkest of her life; her gratitude helped explain her deep affection for Danyla and willingness to fulfill unusual requests 82 83.
After several further transformations, Dreamfyre became substantially stronger than her earlier self. Training, plentiful food, magical nourishment, and the Heart of Winter’s energy improved both her physical condition and bloodline. She later settled in Oldtown, where she laid five eggs and entered a prolonged slumber while continuing to grow 241 267 302 366 499.
Upon awakening, she had become a five-toed great dragon exceeding 130 meters in length. Despite being described at that point as the eldest of the great dragons, her body showed no comparable signs of age. She subsequently grew beyond 150 meters and resumed accompanying Danyla in major magical battles 540 551 561.
Appearance
- Scales: Initially deep blue, having darkened from pale blue over three years with Danyla. After further evolutions, her scales became sky blue; later growth made them thicker and more tightly packed 1 34 302 551.
- Wings: Initially blue with silvery-pink scales along their edges; later described as sky blue, with a wingspan of 180 meters at her 80-meter stage 1 302.
- Horns and neck: Three pairs of horns, with backward-pointing spikes running from her head down her neck. Her later horns, spinal scales, and markings are described as silvery blue 1 302.
- Tail: Covered in bony spikes, with several large, hard armor plates at its tip 1.
- Head type: Described as wolfish, with enormous horns—a form associated with dragons bred for battle 34.
- Dream-form: Appears as an immense dragon made of black-and-blue flame clouds, with pale golden eyes 4.
- Transformed physique: The transformation accompanying her growth to 80 meters replaced some plumpness with a lean, firm body. Her crest and claws enlarged, her barbs thickened and lengthened, and larger, sharper teeth replaced the old ones 201.
- Claws and digits: Developed three digits at the leading edges of her wings and was subsequently identified as a three-clawed dragon. After her prolonged slumber, her bloodline was elevated to that of a five-toed great dragon 201 302 540.
- Heart: During the Dreadfort blood sacrifice, dense dark-purple patterns formed across her heart 561.
Personality
Dreamfyre is proud, protective of Danyla, and sensitive to her emotions. During Danyla’s confrontation with Boremund, she responded to her rider’s anger without needing an initial spoken command. Her pride becomes especially clear when she confidently agrees that she is the most beautiful dragon 10 46.
She can be jealous and easily irritated when other dragons compete for Danyla’s attention or interrupt her meals. She regarded the newly hatched Myracis disdainfully and later grumbled when young dragons approached her feeding ground. Food quickly dispelled her annoyance 7 20 21.
Years of Danyla’s training made Dreamfyre more tolerant of nonhostile people and dragons. She developed a friendship with Syrax and began taking the young dragons hunting, helping them recover their confidence after Cannibal’s attacks 23.
Her emotional alignment with Danyla extends to the people she carries. She cooperated when Danyla took Medrick Manderly and his brother flying, but resisted Mund Hightower because she shared her rider’s dislike of House Hightower. His loud shouting further irritated her, and she deliberately subjected him to violent climbs, maneuvers, and a dive 52.
Her jealousy persisted even after she became more sociable. When Amoros invited Danyla onto her back, Dreamfyre rose and roared angrily, settling only after Danyla returned to soothe her. By contrast, she eventually tolerated Myracis stealing portions of her meals without showing annoyance 84 111.
Dreamfyre is the highest-ranking dragon within Danyla’s own flight. In Danyla’s absence, she eats before the others. Her docility toward approved passengers and children does not erase this authority or her capacity for fierce aggression against enemies 80 110 170 274.
Abilities & Skills
Dragonfire
- Changing coloration: Her waking fire is initially described as orange-red, then appears deep blue in her first battle with Cannibal, sky blue during their later clash, and pale blue while illuminating her cave 4 15 24 25 32.
- Combat use: Breathes fire to obscure an opponent’s vision, interrupt attacks, and create openings for physical strikes 15 24.
- Practical use: Roasts livestock, smelts gold, and melts ingredients for dragonstone construction 20 32 41.
- Spell enhancement: Danyla’s chant raises her fire’s temperature enough to melt the dragonstone mixture immediately and begin softening its stone molds 46.
- Temperature control: Deliberately lowers the heat of her fire when roasting goats. These weaker flames are much paler than her usual blackish-blue fire 111.
- Area devastation: Her black-and-blue fire burns people across hundreds of square meters during the Oldtown riots and later sweeps through the Sealord’s Menagerie like a waterfall 119 266.
- Close-range suppression: Overwhelms the Sea Dragon’s icy breath by pouring blue-black fire directly down his throat, maintaining the attack until he is nearly motionless 194.
- Cloud destruction: After growing beyond 150 meters, can burn away thick cloud layers. Her flames are described as beginning to possess the power to “Burn the Heavens and Boil the Seas” 551.
- Blood-sacrifice amplification: Her fire reaches four to five thousand degrees before amplification; Danyla and Iseryn’s Blood Sacrifice Spells multiply its power during the destruction of the Dreadfort 561.
Mental Bond
- Emotional awareness: Senses Danyla’s mood and may approach in response without being explicitly summoned 10 44.
- Thought commands: Receives instructions without spoken orders, including flight maneuvers and directions to avoid crowds 4 32 44.
- Two-way communication: After the forging spell, conveys thoughts and feelings with exceptional clarity rather than merely responding to Danyla’s intentions 46.
- Shared consciousness: During later dragon dreams, Danyla can enter her consciousness, see through her eyes, and move her body as naturally as her own. Dreamfyre remains aware, with their minds effectively merging while Danyla takes the lead 60.
- Independent obedience: Can carry a passenger approved by Danyla even when Danyla rides another dragon. Walda travels on her back while Danyla rides Little Balerion 170.
- Health and emotional assessment: Danyla can use close contact and their bond to determine that Dreamfyre’s prolonged sleep is calm and healthy rather than a sign of distress 366.
Flight and Physical Combat
- Aerial maneuvering: Performs rapid climbs, dives, evasive turns, and attacks from an opponent’s blind spot under Danyla’s direction 15.
- Claws and hind feet: Tears deep wounds into other dragons and delivers forceful kicks capable of disrupting their flight 24 25 39.
- Combat limitation: Cannibal initially holds the advantage against her alone. Assistance from Meleys, and later Sheepstealer, creates decisive openings 15 25.
- Transport: Her broad back can accommodate dozens of people; she also carries heavy dragonstone pieces for construction 23 50.
- Exceptional speed: Matches or exceeds Meleys’s speed and develops powerful bursts of acceleration. After her 80-meter transformation, her maximum speed is more than twice what it had been before 86 108 206.
- Long-distance endurance: Can fly continuously through the night without showing fatigue after receiving the Heart of Winter’s energy 241.
- Standing takeoff: Eventually requires no running start, launching directly into the air with her wings 319.
- Grappling and lifting: Bites through the Sea Dragon’s scales, lifts him out of the waves, and pins him against a cliff. Against the larger Purple Prince, she arrests their shared fall despite his superior weight 193 335.
- Enhanced teeth and claws: Her transformations make her strength and cutting power far greater than those of ordinary great dragons. She bites through the Red Princess’s wing cartilage and nearly splits the wing with her claws 337.
- Defensive strength: Her improved scales and muscular body withstand the Sea Dragon’s constriction and repeated tail blows, although these attacks still shatter scales. Her Heart of Winter enhancement later greatly improves her defenses 193 194 241.
- Later combat standing: Her fighting strength surpasses Cannibal’s and Vermithor’s; even Vhagar might not defeat her outright, particularly if Dreamfyre avoids a direct contest of bulk and strength 241 302.
- Continuing vulnerability: Despite her later size and power, the giant encountered during the battle with the Lady of the Waves seizes her hind leg and slams her into the sea, seriously injuring her 553.
Hunting and Magical Senses
- Marine hunting: Catches whales, sharks, and large fish over the Narrow Sea. One captured great white shark measures 14–15 meters and weighs roughly ten tons 4 14.
- Fishing technique: Skims the sea, uses wingbeats to fling fish into the air, then cooks and swallows them 14.
- Magic detection: Notices the magical colored soil concealed in Danyla’s whalehide bag and eagerly responds when offered food seasoned with it 29 30.
- Night vision: Can see clearly within her unlit volcanic cave 60.
- Visible magical energy: Through her eyes, the magic within rubies appears as clearly as candle flames, with especially powerful gems appearing dazzling 60.
- Refined shark hunting: Seizes giant sharks from the sea, crushes their heads, throws them upward, roasts them, and catches and swallows them in a continuous sequence 192.
- Magical-prey detection: Senses the many magical creatures in the Sealord’s Menagerie and develops a strong desire to feed before Danyla permits the hunt 266.
Magical Nourishment and Transformation
- Weirwood bond: Establishes a blood-mediated connection with the weirwood. Prolonged residence beneath it later benefits her, although her connection is described as faint 58 302.
- Fire-dominant energy: Her magic is primarily fire energy. After the Sea Dragon’s death, she has little interest in his ice-rich heart and gives it to Myracis instead 194.
- Sacrificial absorption: Receives vitality from energy transformed by the weirwood and gains additional magic through blood sacrifice and consuming the slain 119 122.
- Heart of Winter enhancement: Absorbing some of its energy improves her bloodline, defensive scales, dragonfire, speed, and endurance 241 267.
- Meteorite absorption: Shares the magical energy of a meteorite containing a Metal Core with Danyla after excavating and melting it 340.
- Growth during slumber: Oldtown’s underground energy and nearby weirwood magic continue nourishing her while she sleeps 499.
- Heart mutation: Blood-sacrifice energy produces dark-purple patterns across her heart and the sensation that she is approaching freedom from her lifespan’s limits; actual immortality is not confirmed 561.
- Crystal consumption: Bites off and swallows the dark-blue crystal on a Deep-Sea Behemoth’s head during the ultimate battle 588.
Habitat & Diet
- Daytime resting place: The hillside behind Danyla’s Holy Flame Tower at Dragonstone Castle 4.
- Nest: A vast, dark natural cave near the new volcano’s crater. Its entrance is large enough for Vhagar, and its interior contains rubies and a rich gold vein 4 32.
- Egg nursery: Danyla places two newly discovered eggs among rubies beside a volcanic fissure, leaving Dreamfyre to guard and tend them. Three more eggs are subsequently brought to the cave 40 45.
- Food supply: Receives roasted livestock while supplementing her diet with marine prey; her growing appetite eventually exceeds her regular sheep ration 4 6.
- Magical seasoning: Colored volcanic soil is mixed with fats and seasonings before being spread over livestock. Dreamfyre and the young dragons eat approximately fifty percent more than usual after this dietary change 30 32.
- King’s Landing accommodation: Danyla houses her in the Red Keep’s gardens rather than returning her to confinement in the Dragonpit. She dislikes the ordinary goats supplied there and hunts over Blackwater Bay, where large prey is relatively scarce 80.
- Increasing consumption: Eats roughly thirty or more goats during the stop on Tarth; by the visit to Longtable Hall, she can consume a hundred goats in a day 111 154.
- Human flesh: Participates in feeding on the dead after the Oldtown blood sacrifice. Later, Danyla’s dragons, including Dreamfyre, eagerly recognize the prospect of another opportunity to consume human prey 122 319.
- Lizard-Lions: Feeds on Lizard-Lions during Danyla and Walda’s northern journey. The dragons become too sleepy to fly, forcing the travelers to camp beneath Dreamfyre 172.
- Magical creatures: Eats the Spotted Long-Winged Dragon raw; its energy is said to rival that provided by a thousand ordinary cattle and sheep. She subsequently hunts the Menagerie’s large and magical beasts 266 267.
- Oldtown residence: Left to guard Oldtown, then enters a prolonged sleep in its dragonpit. She later lays five eggs there, while the underground chambers and nearby weirwood support her continued growth 344 366 499.
- Travel equipment: Her saddle is fitted with ropes and large wicker baskets for securing passengers, valuables, and other cargo 123.
Relationships
- Danyla Targaryen — Rider, caretaker, and mental partner. Their bond also accompanies increased vitality and physical strength in Danyla. Dreamfyre’s gratitude for rescue from the Dragonpit reinforces her devotion, and their later dragon dreams allow a much deeper sharing of consciousness 1 4 5 46 60 83.
- Rhaena Targaryen — Former rider and Danyla’s grandmother 1.
- Meleys — Daughter and ally during Dreamfyre’s first recorded battle against Cannibal. Dreamfyre later matches her famed speed 1 15 86.
- Quicksilver — Son; arrives with Daemon as reinforcements during the first Cannibal confrontation. Later helps Dreamfyre herd the Red Princess into the Mountains of the Moon 1 15 337.
- Myracis — Initially a rival for Danyla’s affection; later follows Dreamfyre between the castle, volcanic caves, and construction grounds. Becomes a frequent hunting and combat companion; Dreamfyre eventually tolerates her stealing food and gives her the Sea Dragon’s ice-rich heart 7 33 50 111 194.
- Syrax — Friendly companion who rests beside her and joins her hunting trips 23.
- Grey Ghost, Little Balerion, and the green young dragon — Young dragons she protects from Cannibal and subsequently takes hunting. Grey Ghost and Little Balerion later assist her against the Sea Dragon 15 23 193.
- Cannibal — Repeated opponent whose attacks threaten both Danyla and the young dragons. Dreamfyre’s later transformations allow her to surpass his fighting strength 15 23 24 25 302.
- Sheepstealer — Helps her defeat Cannibal, but later becomes an adversary after attacking Danyla’s breeding-ewe farm 25 38 39.
- Mund Hightower — Unwanted passenger. Sharing Danyla’s dislike of House Hightower, Dreamfyre resists carrying him and torments him with aerial maneuvers 52.
- Shirei — Initially tries to protect Danyla from Dreamfyre despite being frightened. With Danyla’s reassurance, she touches Dreamfyre’s cheek 80.
- Amoros — Another dragon under Danyla’s command. Dreamfyre reacts jealously when Amoros invites Danyla to ride her, but later accompanies her and Antheros to Holy Flame Island 84 86.

- Vhagar — Fellow participant in major battles, including the Sea Dragon confrontation. Dreamfyre’s later improvements make her a potential match for Vhagar outside a direct contest of physical bulk 193 241.
- Antheros — Ally against the Purple Prince; withdraws after suffering a severe wound while Dreamfyre remains engaged 335.
- Rafa — Fellow participant in later magical conflicts, including the destruction of the Dreadfort and the ultimate battle against the deep-sea forces 553 561 588 589.
- Silverwing — Assists Dreamfyre, with Helaena riding her, in killing five giant horned sea snakes 544.
Story Role / Major Arcs
Funeral and Royal Intimidation
- Joins the dragons assembled for Prince Baelon’s funeral and guards Danyla when Myracis emerges from the ashes 6 7.
- Hovers over Aegon’s Garden with fire gathering in her throat during Danyla’s dispute with Boremund. Her presence frightens the nobles and reinforces Danyla’s demand for warships 10.
Battles Against Cannibal
- Abandons a shark hunt to intercept Cannibal and protect three fleeing young dragons. Meleys helps her wound him; Vermithor and Quicksilver’s arrival forces his retreat 14 15.
- During Cannibal’s second attack, draws him away from the islands while people evacuate and the young dragons escape. She tears open his back and damages a wing when he attacks Sheepstealer 23 24.
- Presses the attack with Sheepstealer until Cannibal flees. Vhagar ambushes and incapacitates him near the shore; Viserys later credits Danyla and Dreamfyre with the greatest contribution to the victory 25 26.
Capture of Sheepstealer
- Waits outside Sheepstealer’s cave while Syrax and the young dragons enter. When Sheepstealer escapes through the roof opening, Dreamfyre tears her wings and belly, allowing the others to bring her down 38 39.
- Carries the severely injured Sheepstealer to Dragonmont for confinement 39.
Dragonstone Construction
- Helps manufacture dragonstone for Danyla’s tournament grounds, becoming central to the testing of the newly learned Valyrian forging spell 41 46.
- Produces gemstone-like indigo dragonstone with her amplified fire, prompting the craftsmen to revise the grounds’ design 46.
- Later transports the finished pieces to the Fighting Arena, replacing substantial manual labor 50.
Mund Hightower’s Flight
- Danyla accepts one hundred thousand Gold Dragons from Mund Hightower for a flight after warning that she will accept no responsibility for mishaps 52.
- Dreamfyre reluctantly allows him aboard, then subjects him to a near-vertical climb into thin air, violent maneuvers, and a high-speed dive. Mund loses his grip and falls from her back 52.
- During the aftermath, Dreamfyre becomes furious when liquid on her hot body turns to steam. Danyla stops her from burning Mund and orders her to take him into the sea to rinse him off without harming him 53.
Weirwood Bond and Shared Dreams
- Establishes a connection with Danyla’s weirwood alongside Grey Ghost and the other controlled dragons through blood and chanting 58.
- Becomes one of the dragons whose perspective Danyla inhabits in later dreams. Danyla uses their shared consciousness to gather rubies and discovers Dreamfyre’s night vision and direct perception of magical energy 60.
King’s Landing and the Freed Dragons
- Burns the sails and sailors of three ships to prevent their escape, then lands on a beach to block fleeing bandits and burns more of their guards 65.
- Visits Danyla’s almshouse, where her arrival initially terrifies the children. Danyla introduces Shirei and the others to her as part of presenting dragons as protectors rather than merely destructive creatures 79 80.
- Waits outside the Dragonpit while Danyla investigates the confined dragons. Her distress at the gates and sympathetic reaction to Amoros emphasize the importance of her own liberation 82 83.
- Accompanies Amoros and Antheros from King’s Landing to Holy Flame Island, where Danyla settles the newly freed dragons in a cave near hers 86.
Oldtown Expedition and Blood Sacrifice
- Carries Danyla into Dragonmont to recover four fossilized dragon eggs, then joins the nine-dragon expedition toward Tarth and Oldtown 107.
- Leads the flight with a burst of acceleration and holds the highest rank among Danyla’s dragons, eating first when Danyla does not supervise 108 110.
- Returns Danyla to Oldtown’s Weirwood garden during the riot. A sacrificial incantation channels vitality into the dragons before Danyla orders all nine to burn the advancing crowd 119.
- Burns Hobart Hightower and his armed followers at Danyla’s command. The slaughter and subsequent feeding strengthen the dragons, with Dreamfyre and Myracis showing substantial magical gains 122.
- Carries Danyla and the Earl of Hightower north from Oldtown, stopping at Longtable Hall, where the dragons are fed livestock 153 154.
Northern Travels and the Sea Dragon
- Carries Walda independently while Danyla rides Little Balerion. Later provides shelter for their camp after the dragons become sleepy from eating Lizard-Lions 170 172.
- Transports Earl Andrey’s family, warriors, and Big Piel to Winterfell. During the flight, her fire and ice-wight energies merge; on a later volcanic detour, she collects large gold nuggets for Danyla 184.
- Battles the Sea Dragon alongside Vhagar, Myracis, Grey Ghost, and Little Balerion. She bites his neck, tears away scales, lifts him from the waves, and slams him against a cliff while Danyla’s chants enhance her strength and speed 193.
- Endures his constriction and tail blows, then seizes his head and pours fire down his throat, suppressing his icy breath. After roughly a quarter of an hour, he is nearly motionless, allowing Danyla to kill him through the eye with the Dawn Sword 193 194.
- Carries the harvested scales and hide, but gives the ice-rich heart to Myracis rather than eating it herself 194.
- Undergoes the rapid transformation that increases her length to 80 meters and strengthens her body, teeth, claws, and wing digits 201.
- Carries Danyla and the Sea Dragon’s head over King’s Landing after the end of the Long Night and Winter, accompanying her public return as the “eternal sun” 204.
- Demonstrates her greatly increased speed while rushing Danyla to Dragonstone, then later completes an overnight journey to Cisland without visible exhaustion 206 241.
Braavos Menagerie Hunt
- Catches, bites apart, and swallows the Spotted Long-Winged Dragon after it attacks at the Sealord’s Palace 266.
- With Danyla’s permission, burns the Menagerie’s river valley and hunts its magical creatures alongside Myracis and the younger dragons 266.
- Moves into the Beast Zone, consuming large prey while the flight eats or carries off most of its beasts. Danyla uses the incident to demand an explanation from Braavos, then departs on Dreamfyre in pursuit of an elephant 267.
- Later carries Governor Antaryon, Utherys, and other passengers calmly under Danyla’s supervision 274.
Mountains of the Moon and the Rival Dragons
- Shelters Danyla, Myracis, and the hatchlings in a mountain cave during a storm. When powerful dragon roars sound nearby, Danyla orders a swift departure rather than risking the young dragons in an investigation 288.
- Participates in Danyla’s concentrated dragon flight during the later unrest, by which time she can take off without a running start 319.
