And so, the next day, Chen Yu saw Taiju and Yuzuriha arrive.
"What brings you here?" Chen Yu asked curiously, looking at the two of them.
"Senku's dead. Aren't we welcome here?" Taiju demanded angrily, staring at Tsukasa.
"You are, you are. Of course you're welcome." Chen Yu spoke before Tsukasa could.
Seeing that Chen Yu had answered, Tsukasa swallowed the words he had been about to say.
He's thinking the same thing I am.
"All right, Taiju, you were the first one with Senku, weren't you? Then you should know roughly how to mix the revival fluid. Come help me get these mixed." As Chen Yu spoke, he handed Taiju several ingredients.
"Yuzuriha, help me stitch up that hide backpack. I trust your craftsmanship. I don't want the herbs I gather every day falling out." With that, Chen Yu pointed at a crude backpack hanging by the entrance and nodded.
Tsukasa looked at Chen Yu, Taiju, and Yuzuriha. They all seemed to have something to do, while he had nothing.
"Oh, come to think of it, you must be hungry, right?" Chen Yu suddenly asked.
"I'll go!" Tsukasa immediately volunteered, then left.
"By the way, Chen Yu, why does Tsukasa listen to you so much?" After watching Tsukasa leave and waiting a little while, Taiju asked.
"Good question." Yuzuriha was a little curious too.
"You probably already know about Tsukasa's childhood. But in the end, I was the reason it didn't get any worse, so we're closer than he is with anyone else," Chen Yu explained.
"So that's how it is. Here, it's done. The materials were a little crude, though, so this was the best I could do."
"Thanks, Yuzuriha. Next, shall we tidy up the place we'll be living in?" Chen Yu looked at the two of them as he finished speaking.
Taiju and Yuzuriha exchanged a glance and agreed.
When Tsukasa finally returned and saw the three of them getting along so well, he took it for granted that the two newcomers had joined his empire. Yuzuriha also made him a new outfit, far more comfortable than his old one.
Over the next few days, Chen Yu made revival fluid based on what Taiju and Tsukasa told him. Then, with Tsukasa's approval, he revived a female reporter, who was beside herself with excitement at seeing Tsukasa right in front of her.
After looking around and taking in everyone's clothes, she was still a little dazed, but Chen Yu's explanation helped her understand.
Then, relying on her memories and knowledge, they revived several people in turn. Every one of them was an ardent admirer of Tsukasa; they were basically all his fans.
"So that so-called doctor is actually on our side?" Kohaku asked as she followed Senku.
"Yeah. If I hadn't seen the herbs in your hand, I wouldn't have realized it was him, even though he treated me before," Senku replied.
"Then these herbs he gave me..." Kohaku trailed off, looking at the herbs in her hands.
"They're ten billion percent effective. He'd never hurt anyone, after all. You should count your sister lucky. The person she met was the high school student with the best medical skills thirty-seven hundred years ago." Senku recalled the television report about Chen Yu being awarded that title.
"But how am I supposed to get my sister to drink it?" Kohaku looked at the hot spring water she was carrying.
"Just follow his instructions for now. We'll meet him sooner or later, and we can ask him then," Senku said.
Then, looking at everything Kohaku was carrying, he asked, "Don't you get tired? Carrying this up and down the mountain every day?"
"No. Why?" Kohaku asked curiously.
"Never mind. Let me carry it. I'd feel awful if anything happened to you." With that, Senku took the large jar of hot spring water from her.
Thud!!!
Kohaku stared speechlessly at Senku sprawled on the ground. "You... can you really manage this?"
"What's wrong with this world? You, Taiju, and Tsukasa-why are you all like gorillas?" Senku complained.
"What do you mean, gorilla? Even 'lioness' sounds better!" Kohaku immediately flared up and slapped him.
The slap landed on Senku's head, nearly knocking him unconscious.
...Spring passed and autumn came. Well, not that much time had passed.
Chen Yu watched the population of Tsukasa's empire steadily grow. Tsukasa controlled the revival fluid and kept everyone in line through overwhelming strength. Eventually, they revived Hyoga. Looking at Tsukasa, Hyoga knew he couldn't beat him, but in the end he agreed to help make Tsukasa's ideals a reality.
Looking at the revived Tsukasa, Chen Yu gave him the usual examination and confirmed that nothing was wrong. Still, he took a precaution and pricked several acupuncture points on his body. Unfortunately, he had no silver needles, and even the finest bone needles felt awkward to use. But he also familiarized himself with Hyoga's anatomy. If anyone knew Hyoga's body best, it was definitely Chen Yu.
In the end, he called Taiju and Yuzuriha over, preparing to make a suit of under-armor for Tsukasa.
When Taiju and Yuzuriha expressed their confusion, he simply said, "You'll understand later." That settled the matter.
However, since this was a primitive world, everyone had to learn hunting and proper methods all over again.
They finally managed to bring down some prey, only for a few fellows to mishandle it. They watched the wild boar run two or three kilometers with its exposed entrails dragging behind it, and only caught up when it had lost too much blood.
In the end, Chen Yu was so angry that he butchered the wild boar alive on the spot.
Seeing the wild boar still clinging to life as it was cut open scared those people so badly that they didn't dare move.
Eventually, Chen Yu slowly taught them how to process animal carcasses, explaining clearly what could be eaten and what couldn't.
Finally, they found cumin, chili peppers, and other seasonings, which made the roasted meat much tastier.
Still, a few people seemed determined to make Chen Yu angry. Some injured hunters looked down on him as a doctor. In the end, Chen Yu pulled them behind a hide curtain and began teaching them a lesson.
When the curtain was pulled back, there wasn't a wound on any of them, but they were all in terrible pain. When someone suggested having Chen Yu take another look, they refused to go, even if it killed them.
Gradually, the more timid people began taking detours whenever they saw Chen Yu.
Even Taiju and Yuzuriha, who were close to Chen Yu, became the subject of a legend: they supposedly liked chasing people until they died of exhaustion, then deftly slicing the flesh from their bodies without them feeling any pain.
As a result, Taiju and Yuzuriha were a little angry whenever they saw Chen Yu.
Their reputations had suddenly gone down the drain for no reason. What was that all about?
But the most annoying person of all was the mentalist, Gen.
He came over every day and asked all sorts of bizarre questions, like, "Oh my, Xiao Yu, is this edible?" and, "Oh my, Xiao Yu, do you think I should use this one or that one?" And so on.
Chen Yu was fed up to the point of losing his mind, and he still had no idea what Gen was up to.
"What exactly do you want?" Unable to take it anymore, Chen Yu looked at Gen standing in front of him and asked.
"All right. Since you put it that way, Xiao Yu, isn't it time we talked about Senku, that supposed enemy of Tsukasa's?" Gen said, looking at Chen Yu seriously.
(I got into an argument with someone today. I'm doing my best to write well.)
