As everyone knew, Senku was one of the Science Kingdom's greatest assets [technologically], and since the world had been rebuilt, he had been run off his feet.
Xeno was hardly any better off, of course, but he had his childhood friend to take care of his food, clothes, housing, and transportation. Everyone in the Science Kingdom had their own work to do. Senku was a workaholic to begin with, and without anyone watching over his meals, he simply forgot to eat.
Once again, Senku collapsed in the laboratory.
As consciousness returned, soft bedding wrapped around Senku Ishigami, its faint scent of warm sunshine washing over his entire body.
He slowly lifted his heavy eyelids, his vision still slightly blurred from waking.
Before him was a clean, tidy bedroom, its furniture neatly arranged and its desktop decorations simple and plain. The style was familiar, yet it held a gentle warmth that did not belong to him.
The door was gently pushed open, and soft footsteps approached.
Li Xiang came in carrying a bowl of vegetable porridge that gave off wisps of warm steam. There was not a trace of a smile in her eyes; her expression was stern.
She strode to the bedside and gently set the bowl on the nightstand with brisk movements. Then she pulled over a chair, sat beside Senku, and leaned forward slightly, her gaze fixed squarely on the young man.
"Senku Ishigami."
Her voice deepened. "This is the sixth time you've passed out this month."
"Uncle Byakuya asked me to look after you before he left on his business trip. How am I supposed to face him when you keep doing this?"
Senku pressed his thin lips together, his long lashes lowered. Having only just woken up, his voice was still slightly hoarse, his tone flat.
